don't let your cat out by any means before you get him fixed as male cats can smell female cats in heat from a great distance away. If your cat sprays somewhere in the house before he gets fixed, make sure you clean the spray up with ammonia.

Getting him fixed is about the only option :( Not getting him fixed is not only going to get your house sprayed (A LOT). Its also going to make the neighbors mad with all the inevitably constant howling - not to mention the armies of little offspring should he find females that will spring to life and kil off the local bird population!

He is just going through his teenage or young adult stage. And for the love of God don't get him fixed! Making him unable to have sex won't stop him from trying it with real dogs and things around the house. Getting him fixed probably won't do anything but cause him extreme pain. I hope it all works out for your "things around the house" and you.

Do it this month then. Cats are not like humans. He is not tryiing to "have sex" with things around the house. He just needs an outlet for his rising testosterone level. And that level won't drop immediately after his surgery. So there is no reason not to do it right away.

If he is 6 months old or older he can be fixed. If you are waiting until then don't worry. My kitten never sprayed and I just neutered him at age 6 months.

If he is of age can you up the appointment sooner?

That happened to one of my cats before she got fixed, we had an apointment and all a sudden she started humping things. I know alot think it's funny but it was very hard for me.

Maybe you can get him in earlier? If not I guess your just going to have to wait.

Well that might happen. He's trying to mark his territory. I would have him fixed as soon as possible.
