Well if you dentist understands very well the anatomy of the nerves that intervate the tooth and surrounding gum area then you should not feel a thing. Depending on how hard the bone is and how infected the tooth is there might be a little pressure felt. I always tell my patients the following, whether I do a simple filling or a root canal or an extraction everything should feel the same. You shouldn't feel anything, your teeth should be numb, hope this helps,

Some times yes, some times no. Depends on which tooth, which dentist, and you. Some people have a higher tolerance to pain than others. Maybe you are one of those.

It does hurt, but I can guarantee you - if it needs pulled, you should have it pulled. If you leave it, and you aren't experiencing tooth aches yet, believe me, you will. And that pain is sooooo much worse: it lasts ALOT longer, and it gets harder and harder to make it go away as time goes on.

Ask your dentist if they offer sedation. That would help tremendously if you are apprehensive about the proceedure. You have to have someone to take you home, though.
