Get her some alcohol. Thats always a good choice, maybe Irish Cream Whisky or some Sherry. If she doesn't drink, get her a few bags of marshmallows.

I have the same problem with some of my relatives as if they want it they buy it or they say that don't want/need anything.
One thing I have done in the past is make up a basket and put his/her favorite snacks in it (if the person likes puzzle books like search a words you can include one of those in there too). You can do all kinds of different things including the type of basket you use. I have used a Laundry Basket for a family gift and I have used a linen lined basket for individuals.
You can do a basket with soaps and hand creams or you could buy a premade one at Bath and Body or even WalMart puts some out around the holidays.

Put together something like a scrapbook of all her children and grandchildren. You could have a throw blanket made that had a picture of her family (children, grandchildren, etc.) on it. There are frames that come with mats that spell the words grandmother or family and then put some pics. in it that she would like(you can get these at any good crafts store.) You could consider finding some of her family pictures from when she was little and put something together with that. Another thing may be to get the WHOLE family together somehow and have a huge group picture taken and have it nicely framed. One last idea may be to get a camcorder and record as many people as you can about their fondest memories of their mother, grandmother, friend, aunt...etc. Something else may be to have as many people as you can write something special about your grandmother and compile these and have a book made (you could have it finished at a good copy store like KINKOS). Good luck and have fun!!

We gave my mom a gallon glass jar and on the front we put Mom's Memories(MawMaw's Memories underneath for the grandkids and great-grand-kids) on a card. Then everyone in the family wrote 2 or 3 memories that they had of her. We had some of her friends and my exchange student also write them. It was a great gift and from the heart of everyone! We covered the lid with material before adding the ribbon streamers. She kept it and when she died the preacher read some of the notes at her funeral. It was a great true testimony to her memory! It is great that you want to give her a great gift! YOu must be close and have lots of love for her! Best wishes! PS You can get glass gallon jars from restraunts or bars (pickled eggs, mayo, pickles).

A nice card and a nice blanket (elderly people like blankets). Or a little glass thing that you hang in a window and makes pretty colors all over the room. Or a jewlry box (if she has a lot of jewlry). And also just spend the day with her, and bring your kids with you (if you have any). Love is the best gift a grandma can recieve.

If you are able to spend time with her, how about a homemade coupon book with coupons that say you will take her out to dinner, you will come over and play cards or games, you will come over and take her shopping, watch a movie. Or, a coupon book of things you can do for her, like mow or rake the lawn, dust the house, go to the grocery store.
If you are not able to spend the time, one of my favorite gifts to give in this situation is postage stamps, everyone needs them, Also a snack basket of their favorite treats.
Good Luck!

Get her a nice hamper of luxury foods, things that she wouldn't normally buy, include some of her favourites, as well as staples such as tea, fancy biscuits and chocolates.
Or, make up a small photo album of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren if she has any, so that she can look at them when she is on her own.

Try and find out if their is something that they have always wanted to do but never got round to it. Engage her in conversation about the past, you may be surprised. I knew an 80 year old who used to be a wing walker (biplanes) and her family arranged for her to be harnessed on an old Tiger Moth and she was thrilled.
