i have a pda device that has a cigarette adapter and i would like to take it to korea and use the power adapter in my friends car so that i don't have to carry so many power cords... is this safe and proper? is the voltage and watts the same?

if your Friends car is 12 volt (as most in the world are ) it will work, it would not make economic sense for a manufacturer to have different voltage cars

You'll find that when the lighter got stuck and was hot for a long time it damaged the holder, creating a short. You'll probably have to get a replacement.... It would be easy enough to connect your Sat-Nav to an alternative 12v source but this requires some knowledge of the cars electrical system/layout....

Just be sure that the vehicle in question is negative ground. Some cars are positive ground.
