"That don't pay the bills"
(again in reference to my question on dinosaurs) Then why do you dwell on a book that was written 2000 years ago to control a bunch of sheep herders? Is that not dwelling on the past? How is that book more important than anything else in history? Is that helping you "pay the bills"?

Word: As for the "paying the bills" reference, someone pointed out that learning about the Earth doesn't affect anybody, nor does it pay the bills. - That was out of the mouth of a christian, not mine. I was simply asking if following an historical artifact was helping him "pay the bills"

I really don't have an answer on this one,I just have to agree. And the worst part is that it's not even a very well written book. Over the years its been proven that although it was supposedly the inspired word of God somehow God got some very basic scientific facts wrong about the universe he created. How the hell did he create something and not even fully understand how it worked?

I believe that following that 2000 year old book, does pay my bills. There are some wonderful precepts for debt and debt management there. It is more important than any thing else in history because it will ensure that the path I lead is true and correct.
I don't see myself dwelling on the past, but I do learn about past mistakes and past victories and how to apply them to my life.
I am trying to answer you without the typical cut and paste references of some of the reasons that Christians follow the word. Hope I helped.

It's a religion. It focuses on much of the future as it does the past. All religions have ties to the past. A Buddist follows the teachings of a man. Hindus follow old gods. Jews follow most of the same book as Christians and Muslims go one book beyond (technically speaking). Some don't concern themselves with the dinosaurs because there is nothing we can learn from them right now. Do you know how they died? I bet not. Do you have evidence? Nope. Someone didn't answer your first question in way that stroked your ego and now you keep bringing it up and getting more insulting with each question. Let it go!

You're comparing dinosaurs to paying our bills? Your statements actually lead me to believe that you've never read it. You seem rather smart, so I'm not sure why you'd judge something you seem to know so little about. "Control sheep herders?"
It actually does help my family pay our bills. We were once addicted to money and credit cards. When we put money in a more Biblical perspective we learned to control that. We're not caught up yet, but we're doing tons better. You can't take money with you when you die, no matter what you believe about the afterlife. Why be a slave to it now?

Provided there were as many dinosaurs that evolved over a great span of time. It would be fair to assume that the rain forest would have more than one inch of fertile top soil. Even the fact that there would be much more in the way of tar pits. It causes me to conclude that we have a juvenile earth as described by scriptures. Plus, we have more volcanic activity now than was supposedly at the beginning of creation.

I don't consider life a trivial thing.
Your information on the bible is from the pit of hell. You must read it before evaluating it as "something to control a bunch of sheepherders"
To pay your bills is not something to shirk, but how much time do you spend in front of the TV or computer?
Get a life. literally.

How does paying bills have anything to do with the Bible. I dwell in the love Jesus has given me of whom I found not only in the words of the Bible but also the peace I feel in my heart. Why does this bother you?
Peace and love be with you.

It wasn't wrote to control anybody. It was wrote to tell of God, to tell about Jesus, to tell about how the earth was created and how it will end. It's about our Lord and Savior, you may choose not to believe, but be an adult, don't be rude or disrespectful of those of us who do believe.
