how do you manage your time? do you also work or play sports? prioritize what is most important for you to spend time on.

i work full-time, i run a online media website, i go to college and i do photography. and i'm now able to manage all 4.

sometimes you have to rearrange your schedule and have to cut back your time on things are less important to you right now. definitely find the time to put more into your school work.

you don't to go through what i went through a couple years back when i wasted tuition money and 2 years of schools by not doing much studying and barely getting a passing grade. because in the end, you'll end up having to spend more time in school that expected.

good luck!

College is a much different environment from high school. How many credit hours are you taking this semester... perhaps it's too many for you to take on all at once, consider lessening your work load next semester in terms of the number of classes you register for.

Another point is free time has gone bye bye. Much of your time will have to be dedicated to study in order to do well. It's a fact you will have to get friendly with very soon. You will realize after a while that once you've figured out your study schedule you will start to find plenty of time for socializing.

This is the hardest part... Sleep. You will be getting a lot less of it, coffee is your new best friend. In the end, it all works out and you will look back on your all night study sessions fondly... i do.

Good luck, don't give up, just trim the fat and submit to the reality of your new situation and you will do just fine.

dont quit!!!! just never let urself fall behind.if a paper is due in 2 weeks,go to the library THAT night, and start researching and writing it!set aside 2 hours every day or night to do assignments, readings, and homework.get away from ur friends to a quiet place-school or local town library,or quiet corner on campus where they wont find u,and stay there till the days assignments are done.do this every evening after ur classes.pretty soon,u'll have good study habits, and u will get more and more productive, cause ur up to date on all ur work.u'll still have plenty of time to date and socialise, evemn moreso, bcause when ur friends are cramming last minute for assignments that they had days or weeks to do,but left for last minute,u will already have finished them, long ago.i started doing papers the night i was assigned to do them, even if they werent do for weeks.this really saved my sanity and got me thru college-i hope it helps u,too.dont be hard on urself, the first semester is all about finding ways to study that are more effective and that work for u.its normal to feel overwhelmed at first, but apply urself at a set time each day or evening, and it will become a habit and seem easier and normal.and u'll never have to do things last minute, which is too stressful.

You need to persevere.

What you are describing is very common. Most of the folks who end up dropping out do so for reasons that have nothing to do with academics. It has much more to do with adjusting to being away form home, time management, etc.

Just work as hard as you can for the time you have left. Even if you don't do well in the first semester, learn from what has happened and improve the next semester.

Persevere. Feeling like a small fish in a big pond is normal but whatever you do don't drop out, as graduates earn much more and have fuller lives than non graduates. Your situation is common and if you relearn how to study and put some time aside you should do well. Good luck.

Notes from class organize them in a structured format
1
a
b
c

2
a
b
c

Then compare the notes you have taken from your class to the book its self, also use the reference materials provided by your school books to further understand what you are studing. It is never easy good luck I went to school on probation I.E. poor grades, but finished with a 3.0 not bad, have a good day.

You've got to learn how to study. I know that's oversimplified, but you have to devote at least as much time to studying and homework as you do class time.

Don't quit. If you do not have a planner, get one and budget your time. It may sound stupid, but it works.
