When I went through in 1992 Basic Training was 8 weeks long. However In-processing took about 2 weeks before the 8 weeks of Basic Training started. So that makes 10 weeks of training. After your Basic Training is done you still have Advanced Individual Training (AIT) to go through. AIT can very in length depending on the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) you chose to go into. AIT for the Infantry MOS was 5 weeks long and I think that was the shortest. Making my training a total of 15 weeks.

9 weeks, consisting of three phases. Red phase(total control phase) comes first. The white phase(a little less screaming) is second and then blue phase. Blue phase is when you do BRM(basic rifle marksmanship) Very fun!
After that you'll do your AIT (advanced individual training) which is basically like going to school. Rather boring(depending on your job) but consisting of two phases. Black and Gold. Also depending on where you go to Basic/AIT you will start to get off post passes in Black phase.

8-9 weeks well that was how long it was in 1996 and then you have AIT whit can last from 4 weeks to 18 months depending on what job you get

BCT itself is 9 weeks split into 4 phases (in Fort Jackson at least) 3 shitty phases and red white blue phase which is alright. reception can last a week but last i heard they are shortening it, if you are really unlucky you can be in reception longer, and reception is the worst part of BCT, trust me.

if all goes well, and you don't get recycled, it lasts about nine and a half weeks. But you may be there for a week or so before you actually get started.
