I have a friend who breast fed her son till he was three years old, so I would assume so.

I never breastfed and I had milk for 13years. I was so upset, I asked the doctor and he said that sh!t was normal. Can you believe that? The 14th year it went away I only had one child. So I guess it would be normal after 5mo. I would still check with the doctor just to be on the safe side. I have been told by many women they had the same problem even my mom she had it for 20 yrs.

That's a bit strange. My mom had the same thing and turns out it was happening because she had a brain tumor. That's probably not what's causing yours, but you never know I guess. Just talk to your doctor about it. Nobody on here will be able to give you a definite answer because there are alot of possiblities of what could be causing it. Good luck and God bless.

After the milk supply has dried up it doesn't come back unless you get pg again or take drugs to induce it. It could be a prolactin imbalance and you should see your dr for a blood test.

YES! I nursed several kids in a row and had milk in my breasts for a year. I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test, though!

Yes, dear that's normal. It's probably just your hormones reacting when you hold your baby. Your body is saying nurse him.
Make sure you take extra care in hygene. You are still prone to getting infections in the nipple area.

So it sounds like you tried to breastfeed for a while, but it's been a long time since you quit?
Stimulation can keep your supply from drying up completely. Stop checking and it should go away. Squeezing to check is going to stimulate you to keep making more milk.
Or you could pump and give it to your son. :-)
