All Hail The Fried Twinkie!
From the depths of culinary failure, I was brought to the heights of achievement by my fried Twinkie efforts. Rarely do I get something right the very first time, but this one seemed charmed. Perhaps the Twinkie Gods rewarded my lifelong affection for the golden sponge confections.
Ingredients
6 Twinkies, frozen overnight or at least 6 hours
Bench flour for dusting
1 c. whole milk
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. kosher salt
Powdered sugar for post-cook dusting
Preparation
Heat peanut oil in fryer to 375° F.
Mix liquid ingredients together, then slowly blend in dry ingredients until smooth. Refrigerate while oil heats.
Dip one Twinkie into batter then, using tongs, place it in the fryer. Using fryer basket or spider, keep the entire Twinkie submerged. It will try to float! If you have a deep enough fryer, by all means use the carnival method with wooden sticks and a corn dog holder, but not many houses are so equipped
Fry 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown. Drain on racks over paper towels for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
If you are making a large number, they can be kept warm for up to an hour on racks over paper towels in an oven set on "warm." The longer they sit there, the more the cream filling will melt into the sponge cake.

Chipshop's Deep-Fried Twinkie recipe
10 Hostess Twinkies
Extra flour
Powdered sugar
For the batter
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon malt vinegar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces water
For a four-berry coulis topping
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup frozen blackberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
To fry Twinkies: Cool Twinkies in refrigerator.
Mix batter ingredients to the consistency of custard. Roll each Twinkie in extra flour and then roll in batter. Drop the battered Twinkie into a deep fryer for about 90 seconds, just until the cream filling is starting to melt and the outside is golden brown. Top with powdered sugar; cut in half and serve with four berry coulis.
To make the coulis: Place berries in a pan on low heat and add sugar. When mixture begins to boil, place in blender and blend until it turns to liquid. Strain mixture through a sieve to remove pulp.

Deep-Fried Twinkies
For Twinkies:
6 Twinkies
Popsicle sticks
4 cups vegetable oil
Flour for dusting
For batter:
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Chill or freeze Twinkies for several hours or overnight.
Heat 4 cups vegetable oil in deep fryer to about 375 degrees.
To make batter: Mix together milk, vinegar and oil. In another bowl, blend flour, baking powder and salt. Whisk wet ingredients into dry and continue mixing until smooth. Refrigerate while oil heats.
Push stick into Twinkie lengthwise, leaving about 2 inches to use as a handle, dust with flour and dip into the batter. Rotate Twinkie until batter covers entire cake. Place carefully in hot oil. The Twinkie will float, so hold it under with a utensil to ensure even browing. It should turn golden in 3 to 4 minutes. Depending on the size of your deep fryer, you might be able to fry only one at a time, two at the most.
Remove Twinkie to paper towel and let drain. Remove stick and allow Twinkie to sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
Makes 6.
Variation: Slice Twinkie into 4 pieces. Flour and batter each before frying. With this treatment, one Twinkie will serve two people if accompanied by a sauce.

I'd assume its like fried oreos, you use pancake batter (make it thicker than usual) coat twinkie in batter and place in hot oil. gotta be fast tho--or it may dissolve
