You are right...When John saw this vision, it was so awesome he only could describe the heavens and the ones there, in human terms, and what he was told to write down.
Yes the ones who are their now belong to a heavenly government, and will rule over the earth soon.
I must say this, very few will be resurrected to heaven...the rest will either survive the great tribulation without dying or be resurrected from there graves given a new body, the prospects to live forever on earth and be under the heavenly government that will rule over us in peace.

If heaven exists (it does seem unlikley) Then I doubt very much it is the harp-playing, floatey clouds, golden halo's type serene place it is described.

Each person's idea of heaven is different, therefore if a heaven did exist it would have to accomodate each and every person. The way Heaven is described in the Bible, is a fairly metaphorical veiw of it. Personally I don't want to spend eternity playing harps, and sitting on a cloud all day...So if that really is what heaven is, then may I be damned.

The only reason Heaven exists, in my opinion...Sorry that's not the right way to put it. The only reason Heaven was created, is so people have a comfort blanket. Think about it, how depressing would life be if you really thought that this was it, just this life and then poof you're gone bye bye, nice knowing you. People want the promise of eternal life, because (ironically enough) it gives them something to live for.

Personally I can live without Heaven, although it does sadden me from time to time to think that I may never see nor walk apon this earth again. But in the end, I give myself purpose by trying to better my life and the lives of those around me. If this really is just it, then that's what I'm going to live with...I'll make my own heaven, right here on earth.

I believe the scriptures about the Heaven. Heaven is a place where we will be with God forever.

People have diluted ideas about Heaven because their focus or understanding is wrong.

It's pretty Simple, only those who have given there lives to Christ, repented from there sins, and trust in Him (Jesus Christ) as Lord and savior will enter Heaven. And God's Word describes it pretty avidly. He says we as Christians or followers of His Principles will receive new bodies according to how we lived our physical lives on Earth. And He describes what it will look like too-it will be beautiful beyond our current comprehension. We will reign in Heaven for 1000 years and then return to Earth to reclaim it. Pretty awesome right?

I guess they're blinded by their religious teachers. In the Bible all resurrection happened here on earth, not in heaven. Too, Jesus told his disciples to pray: "thy kingdom come". He did not say, 'thy kingdom go up'.

If God's kingdom will come; while many believe that they will 'go to heaven' where will they go really?

Just a thought
