Peter did. Paul did. Didn't Jesus say when he healed someone "go your sins are forgiven" and didn't he then say "Which is easier to say your healed or your sins are forgiven--they are both the same" So why cannot people who God has entrusted this gift to forgive sins? Will you continue to be blind about this issue?

I am not really sure if u r referring to a physical or spiritual life. As far as I now Jesus was the only one to bring someone back from the dead and yes u r right if persons have such a gift they should be using it in the name of Christ. As far as ones sins being forgiven ask Jesus for forgiveness, and change ur ways and that's just fine. Good luck curious 2006 .

Only God can heal people and forgive their sins Paul and Peter healed people in God's name. God has not entrusted anyone the gift to forgive sins, he is the only person who can.

Jesus gave these gifts to specific people, not to all of us. These people did what they did in Jesus' name and through God's power, not on their own power or authority.

Your question is confusing to me. Are you asking whether we have the authority to forgive sins? We don't. We have the authority to point people in the direction of the One who does have that authority and power.

Notice that today Jesus has not given anyone still alive the power to resurrect the dead.

Bull -own- ee!!!! Nine years ago, the Holy Bible was available for everyone who knew how to write the stuff above. One quick search of the subject shows that those contributors either didn t know how to search for scriptural truth or they were playing the devils advocate...Of course...we can and are suppose to forgive others...However that doesn t mean they have been pardoned too. They are still responsible for restitution or repentance...as we are all responsible for our consequences of our actions..

I don't recall any apostle raising someone from the dead except Jesus. The Apostles did have the ability to heal though.

how can you tell who can forgive sins? should we then start praying to them for forgiving our sins? does that not seem idolizing in the least? does god not want to talk to us is that why he sends common men to do his work now? get real, man cannot forgive sins as he is a sinner. you cannot clean a dirty counter with a dirty napkin.

Because he also said not to marvel about the fact that you can raise the dead and that demons are subject to you, but be grateful the your names are written in Heaven. Therefore, only if your name is writte in Heaven can you do these things.
