I 've tried about EVERYTHING. And don't go telling me to use ProActive because the only thing that stuff did was make my face break out even more. Anyway, I would have to say my skin is a little oily, but no face wash has actually done anything to help that. I tried this coconut soap stuff which I Kirk's Natural. That doesn't work at all. I started using the egg treatment but i'm not loyal to it because I don't think i'm even doing right. Its horrible this acne because I can't get a girl near my face anymore its killing me and it hurts. I drink about 10 cups of water a day because I work out and I don't drink soda, so what am I doing wrong?? Anybody???

When you wash your face you need to find a good soapless cleanser, as the soap dries the skin and clogs pores. I believe Desert Essences makes a good one that has tea tree oil in it which is an anti-bacterial and is very good for treating acne. Also, Aubrey Organics makes a really good face wash that doesn't contain soap. I have used that one before and it is wonderful! And when you're washing make sure you don't scrub hard as that stimulates oil gland production actually making blemishes worse. Being gentle is the key. After washing use a toner without alcohol, and add about 5 drops of tea tree oil to the toner. Witch hazel would be a good base and very affordable. And Aubrey Organics also makes a good toner as well as Desert Essences.
Twice a day dab tea tree oil on blemishes. It won't just magically dissappear over night...it does take some time, but it will help a lot as long as you are faithful to do it everyday.
Keep drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods. That goes a long way in helping too.

Tea tree oil (essential oil) can be found at just about any natural food store, and I'm sure if they don't carry it you could ask for them to order it. I use the NOW brand, very affordable and effective.

Desert Essence products can be found at natural food stores as well. Also they have a website where you can see all of their products...they sell tea tree oil as well.

Aubrey Organics are easiest to come by online. Some natural food stores carry their products, but they are harder to find. It's easiest just to go to their website. They also have a natural moisturizer for oil skin, that is non-greasy and light, but still gives your skin the moisture it needs.

I hope this helps.

the same thing happen to me, proactive just made it worse!

i read a bunch of home remedies and trust me i have tried everything. and seriously the "natural" way is the way to go.
first of all, stop buying acne products! i have noticed that the more ingriedients a producted had, the more i would break out.
so this is what i did:

Morning wash my face with Cethapil Gentle Cleanser let it dry then put cetahpil moustirizer with a sunscreen cause sun does damage your skin.

if its night time, i wash my face with cethapil gentle cleanser
let it dry. then use vinegar ( you can find it in your kitchen lol) and rub it on my skin with a cotton pad or w.e you want to use. let it dry and put toothpaste on each individual pimple. leave it overnight.

weekends i wash my first face with the gentle cleanser, i rub a lemon on my face instead of vinegar and when that dries i rub an aloe vera leaf for a good amount of time, about 30 minutes. whatever you can last.( i have an aloe plant so i usually cut a leaf and put it in the freezer.)

try to keep it up. be loyal and dont give up hope!
at first i was kinda doubting the effectiveness and thought about going back to proactive but im glad i waited it out. it took me about three weeks to see a difference, but boy im glad i waited.

try this, and if it doesnt work i would say go on and try any other home remedy out there before you think about using other products. if its still that bad, i would go to a dermatologist.

good luck! best wishes :)

You need to go see a dermatologist. The reason Proactive or any other over the counter stuff didn't work is because the medication wasn't strong enough for your acne. If you go to a dermatologist they will give you antibiotics to take to clear up your skin from the inside out and they will also be able to prescribe a facial regimen that will help clear up your skin.

**no worries i have a good suggestion.. ***
and honestly you seem to be on the right path..
first of all wash your face multiple times a day with
cold water .. this will help
you Tremendously since it will close up your
pores which avoids attracting dirt and dust that
lead to acne and blackheads. ALSO...
you may prepare a home recipe that DOES WORK
even on you that you have tried so many things already
buy powder milk... and oatmeal..
you will mix these ingredients ..add water (very little)
to where you get this formula not to drip because
you will be spreding it all over your face...(so the amount
of water you use will need to be enough to where you
can place this on your face without drippin)...
honestly, its ok if it doesnt come out the first time your only using very little anyway so if its to watery try it again and really use
this!!! it will be worth the try and the time.. best wishes!

OK lets be real, acne's a b**** and it's the worst thing to get over but its not impossible. The best thing out there for it right now is Acutane, but, it is not for everyone that's why it is only obtained by a Dr's prespription. Some people tend to be allergic to the medicine, for a few percentage it does not work for, but usually it does, for everyone, even though after you stop using it the acne comes back, like with every other medicine after the treatment is over. It is really harsh on your body though, for women they can't take contraceptives or have kids due to some serious problems that can occur while taking it, other people experience horrible peeling and dryness.

Apart from all this, i used to have acne, apparently not bad enough for Acutane (according to my dermatologist) but it was still bad (at least i thought it was), so i was recommended this over the counter medicine called "Nature's Cure". They have two medicines, one formulated for men, and another for women, and among these they have the topical creams and face washes as well as pills that work from the inside out. I personally tried the cream and face wash. Since i started using it i have yet gotten another pimple, seriously, my face is progressing miraculously, alot of the blemishes are gone, almost all. Smooth skin, it does dry it a little bit but barely, everyone's complimented on it. A few more weeks and my face will be completely clear. To help with this i also get facials done, everyonce in a while to help with the deep cleaning, which helps alot to remove stubborn clogs and blackheads and so forth.

I know not all of these over the counter medicines work for everyone, like myself that i've tried Proactive and Murad and all those things and i actually got my face worse due to them. But this one worked, see if you can find it in a neighborhood pharmacy or drugstore, or supermarket (which some of them also sell them), or online in their website.

About a diet, the main cause of acne is not your diet, eating chocolate or drinking too much soda, it's an old wife's tale, BUT a good diet will prevent excess oils in the skin which will clog pores and cause breakouts.

The main cause of acne are your body's hormones, we can't fix those with a change in diet. For me i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and excercise, this helps your metabolism break fatty acids that may affect your hormone production, as well as providing an overall well being for the body and get you nice and fit, a little blood to the old pump is sometimes the best remedy for current health problems as well as future undeveloped ones.

Stress is another factor that people a lot of the time don't consider, it does affect your acne because too much stress will trigger hormone production in the body and well you know the rest. Try to take life easily, i know sometimes it's hard but you gotta try, for my stress, excercise wipes it all out, and it usually does for a lot of people so think about it.

Well i hope this helps you and good luck with what ever you end up trying.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Your best bet is to see a dermatologist to find out what causes your acne and they may be able to proscribe something that actually works.
