MS has re-arranged the Favorites buttons a bit. The two stars just left of the tabs is where you want to be. The Star by itself is where you view the Favorites, and now the History too. This will take a little getting used to.
But to add a Favorite, just click the icon next to that...the start with the green plus (+) sign.

On the left side of the screen click on the +star sign

the double stars on the upper left hand side under the arrow buttons

there is a double arrow tab in right hand corner. click on that go to "bookmarks", in the sub-menu click on "add to yahoo favorites"

left top corner u will find star icon. use it.
