I didn't see your other question, but it looks like you probably had a concussion from a crash, right? The emotions you described (stress, anger, fear) are TOTALLY normal after a trauma like a crash! (MY spouse just had a crash on Sat. and is still a nervous, angry wreck & can't think straight!).
These symptoms can last days, weeks or even months, if not treated! The CT scan should show if you have anything really serious, but it will probably NOT show what is called "soft tissue trauma". You probably DO have some of that, and not just in your brain, but neck, back, shoulders, etc., from being thrown around.
STILL, you sound pretty coherent and not confused at all, so I doubt you have any life threatening brain damage!
The tough thing about soft tissue trauma is that it is very hard to detect, even with sophisticated tests, and many people see it as a way to get sympathy or an excuse file lawsuits! IGNORE THEM!
Even a mild concussion can take months to heal and your symptoms can cause your emotions to fluctuate wildly. I knew a lady whose car got rear-ended and her concussion caused her to have blackouts, memory loss and even get in her car and drive 100 miles without realizing it! She was prone to fits of anger and extreme sadness. THIS IS NORMAL and your mother should not be pushing you so hard! Eventually, this will heal and you will get better.
Yes, your extreme emotions CAN make healing worse, by raising blood pressure, altering your hormonal balance and making your muscles tight, thus causing injury to already injured tissue.
TAKE IT EASY! Maybe just take one or two classes and accept that this will take time to heal. I advise joining an online or local support group for victims of traumatic brain injury (See the links below for info on this as well--there's even one on Yahoo) You may also be eligible for SSDI temporarily (so you don't have to work). Get a lawyer, if you don't have one - one of the links is a list of lawyer referrals. You may not want to sue, but might need money if you cant work or for medical expenses, like more tests.
Don't be put off by the word "Rehab" in one. This can just mean helping you learn to deal with the anger and trouble focusing...
Also, I'd show these link to your mother and anyone else involved in your care, so they can be more well-informed. Even specialists can often make you feel like you shouldn't complain, just because you're not in a body cast!
Try to relax (meditate, get in some quiet time, but AVOID video games, as they can cause seizures!). Get support from friends and others around you. You'll heal and go back to normal...just give it time.
Good luck and get well!
P.S. If you want more info, visit the public health library at your hospital, talk to a counselor there or you can IM me.

Yes, you do need the rest. Also you need to reduce your stress levels. Being under high amounts of stress will not hinder your recovery so to speak, however its never a good idea. Your mother needs to understand that you have just been through an awful ordeal, and it will take a while for things to be normal again. Right now you need her support more than her nagging. Just be open and honest. Tell her how scared you are. A mother's instinct is to soothe her own child no matter the circumstance. If she cant do this, it sounds like she has some issues herself that need to be worked out. Good luck on the CT scan tomorrow, and please let us know how all went. I am putting you on my watched list. Take care.

Hush up. Good grief. Wait till you have the CT tomorrow and see what the doctor says. Sounds to me you really want to quit college and may be using this as an excuse to get out of them??
