Not yet. He's showing interest in peeing, but he's not showing interest in the toilet. Try talking about the toilet like when you're changing his diaper. Ask him "Are you going to use the potty soon?" And get him familiar with it. Don't put him on it yet or make him use it though. He needs to get familiar with the idea that he's going to use soon first.

I put a potty chair in my bathroom when my child turned a year old. I didn't make her use it, I just let her sit on it when she wanted to. Then at 1 1/2 she started going potty from time to time, but she was never scared of it like alot of kids are. I think its good to have it early on so they start getting the idea of what is going on.

if he realized he was peeing, you should have picked him up immediately and put him on the toilet and said, this is where big boys go potty! but since you missed that que, do it next time he realizes he's going. do you already have a little training chair with the deflctor cup for a boy?if not,you should get one soon.sounds like he'll be ready soon.i had 2 girls 2 boys. i found my boys were somewhat harder to train than the girls. the girls were both completely potty trained by the time they were 18 mos. old,the boys were 2.this takes time and patience, hang in there and good luck!

Definitely. Some parents introduce the potty long before their 1st birthday.

Sure, go ahead and introduce it. Just don't expect too much and don't push it if he's not ready. He has realized where the pee comes from and that's a good start, but it may be a while before he recognizes the feeling of needing to go before he goes. Good luck.

Yes this is the perfect time to start him. He is already showing the signs of a child who is ready for the potty. Me i think we should start when they can walk and sit on there own.

Not yet. Children find their own way to the potty. I had it standing in the bathroom all the time and my daughter surprised me one day sitting on it doing her business all by herself. He's only a baby, give it time :-)

You can try, my son is now 3 and is doing great, but I didn't push him I let him start when he was ready. He had his chair he would go when he wanted.Just make sure that no one yells if he pee's on himself. It will make him not want to try for a couple days if not longer. I could have killed my husband when he yelled @ our son. It took me 2 days to get him to try again. LOL Gl

Why not? My sister used to put a "target" in the potty for my nephew to aim for, like a Cheerio or something, and that helped! Sounds dumb but it works!
