It used to be a Gossen Luna Pro, so I'll submit this model into nomination. It's a Gossen Luna-Star F2 for incident, reflected and flash. Cost $459.95.

A cheaper model is the Gossen Digipro F for flash and ambient light. Cost $258.95.

However, here's the big brother... The Gossen Starlite digital incident, spot and flash meter. It's nice to have a spot meter, but it costs almost $700.

If you don't know - you probably don't need the best and most accurate.

Yes, the Gossen Luna Pro was and is probably the best incident and reflected light meter.

Minolta used to be the best spotmeter, but they've dropped that - and recently all photographic equipment.

I would get the best combination incident, reflective, variable-angle spot, and flash meter.

They make combo units - combining all of the above, but I don't know which ones are best - however, I'd start with the Gossen products.

Any spot-meter should get you within 1/2 a stop. Slide film is your pickiest film and it's got at least a full stop of latude.
Stop worrying about whats best and get what works.
