Isn't it like a carnival? All the different stories are like B ticket rides. I guess Unicorns were here before dinosaurs, since they got left behind with the fairies, gnomes and trolls.

The waters flooded the earth for 150 days (5 months of 30 days each), including the 40 days and nights of rain (Genesis 7:12, 17, 24, 8:1)
Based on what the Bible states it would appear that the entire earth was involved in the flood. We can't answer every little detail from events in the Bible. The problem is some Christians try to hard to interpret passages and end up stating things they can't prove. The Bible does not talk about lack of vegetation and dinosaurs. It also clearly states that the earth was flooded, not just rivers. We need to stick to the very words in the Bible.

It falls into the same category as all the idiots who are constantly trying to explain how Noah got all those animals into such a small space along with the food necessary to feed them. My favorite is the one that speculates young creatures so they would be smaller, although how a baby animal made what in many cases would have been thousand mile trips,or how pregnant females made those same journeys to birth at his doorstep, that's the part I see as just a lot(like hugely) illogical.
Not only could many not be able to make such a journey with difficulty, many animals in the states I described would die without being able to complete the journey. But the suspension of disbelief required to believe the flood story may be less than what would be required for someone to believe that Star Wars was based on a true story.
PS It sounds like Gary needs to get a grip by the way

If you really want to know what happened, you need to do some deep investigation into scrolls and texts in the London and Cairo museums. In a nut shell; the ice shelf that was sitting on the continent of Antarctica was becoming very unstable because the Earth's temperature was rising. A passing comet came so close to the earth that it shook the earth causing the ice shelf to fall into the ocean causing a massive tidal wave. ( no joke it is written about in ancient times) All descriptions from historical texts described exactly what we see in a modern tsunami today. Most of Africa, Europe, and a great deal of Asia were covered. Parts of South America, and North America were also covered. Scientists even know the day it happened on, February 12th. You can find more information about this and other things that have happened in the past by reading the Earth Chronicles a series of books by an archaeologist named Zechariah Sitchen.

Here is what the bible states.
The flood covered the entire earth.
When allowed to leave the ark, God told them all, humans and animals to spread out and replentish the earth.
He also stated that the animals would now fear man from this point out. Man would now eat the meat of certain "clean" animals.
Anything more that people add is just that, their own imaginations as to what may have happened.
My own thoughts as to the behemouths (dinosaurs) is that without the earths terrarium like climate, they being reptiles stopped living super long life spans just as humans did. Being reptiles they continue to grow right up until they die, so with shorter life spans, they did not grow as large as they used to.
In parts of the rain forest, there are secular and missionary accounts of sitings of small scale dinosaurs to this very day. This can be looked up on many amazon or rainforest sites, both spirtual and secular.

God flooded the whole world. People interpret the Bible differently, unfortunately. But, they are forgetting where Noah set a bird free after the rain ended to find land it and was gone for days only to return with no sign of land. If it was just a river, or as far as Noah could see, that was a pretty big river and slow bird. Noah did this a few times after the rain stopped before the bird brought back a piece of tree limb (twig w/leaves).

I wouldn't believe the dinosaur story, since humans didn't live at the same time as dinosaurs, we EVOLVED after they became extinct. I heard a theory that this particular bible story could have happened, but not in the giant scale that the christians would have you believe. I heard that the whole black sea could have been flooded and since people believed that where they lived was the whole planet, that's where we get this story!

Every ancient culture has its flood story, because a flood was among the worst things that could happen to a people: Just look at New Orleans. The flood legend of the bible was originally out of the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest extant piece of literature. So, it merely follows the trend of an oral tradition: Make it bigger, and scarier, and the audience will like it more.
Like most bible stories, it's an allegory. Obvious! ( to anyone with two functioning braincells)

I believe that the flood was not just the river. It was everything. The bible says that the rain came down, (for the first time btw) and up from the crust, *under ground rivers). I don't think that there were dinosaurs at that point. I don't think that there was anything in the world alive but the people and animals in the arc.
There are many interpretations of the bible, esp. the old test. I believe that it is true just how it is written. I am not sure why people want to change the bible to make more sense to them. Either you believe or you don't, but don't change it around and pick and choose.

Flood covered the whole earth. It's as it says in the Bible. I know I watched a program that talked about evidence of a flood but it wasn't conclusive of it being over the entire earth. Thank goodness for free will, you can believe whatever you want. I personally choose to believe all parts of the Bible, not just some. I'm not hurting anyone by my beliefs. I hope you have a lovely day.

Hey Spook -- does this story sound familiar?
God gets angry with humans; decides to flood the earth. Tells one man; he builds an ark, loads it up with animals. Floats around for a while, outlasts the storm, sends a bird out to find dry land.
And the name of the man in question?
.....
Upnapishtim.
Happened in ancient Sumeria, according to the writings of Gilgamesh.
