My friend just got a call from her son's school saying that her 10 year old son helped a classmate cheat on a test. Her son knew the answers but a classmate asked him for the answers and he told her. What should she do?

well in my opinion a 10 year old is a 10 year old he knows what cheating is, I'm not saying she should come down on him hard but she needs to sit him down and have a talk with him about cheating, next time someone could say he was cheating on a test just to get back at him for something. just because they are good kids doesn't mean they don't cross the line from time to time and doesn't mean they won't pull that i didn't think i was cheating bit and I'm sorry i was just helping a friend i didn't think it was wrong, trust me i have 5 sisters and 6 brothers *lol* and I'm the oldest so i have seen and heard a lot.

the boy is only 10 he probably didnt even think about it being a test, he was just helping out a classmate. She should tell him the importance of taking your own test and not telling others the answers but I dont think he should be punished let the call home to mom from the teacher be punishment enough

When I was ten I helped a girl cheat on a test. Honestly it wasn't a big deal, I mean at least your friends 10 year old didn't need the answer!

At this point I would say she needs to sit him down and have a good heart to heart with him. If he is normally a good kid, I would not come down to hard on him. Maybe he just wants to be liked , maybe he likes her, etc etc. Cheating can be a very serious offense in the schools eyes so she needs to make sure he understands that.

At that young of an age I don't think I would get too upset if it was his first time doing it. Sit him down and explain to him why it is not OK to do this. Chances are he got in enough trouble at school already. If he does it again, Then he should get into trouble with his parents.

maybe he liked her or just wanted to feel like helping people he might not think of it as cheating.
