Why didn't he just say my Church is people I like?

Do you think that possibly the Scripture that says "The two shall become one flesh" in the marriage of Adam and Eve had something to do with this?

from Adam's side he made his wife and from Jesus' side issued forth the blood and through this we become his bride. Do you agree?

Think about how Christ is coming back for His wedding with the bride....what a beautiful analogy that helps us to understand His second coming - and how special that day will be! The bride will lift her "veil" and see Jesus more clearly on that day...and then of course they will have their kiss! As it is written in the Book of Revelation, "Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” (And so now is the time to start making ourselves beautiful as we prepare for that day....just as a bride prepares for her wedding day)

Another analogy used to describe this day is that of a pregnant woman...the tribulation that precedes Christ's return will be as a woman in labor pains...but in the end, the woman will forget all the pain, and rejoice in her new born child!

The two most memorable events in most people's lives are their wedding day and the day they have their first child....and God uses both of these to try to convey to us the specialness of His return - what it means to Him and what it should mean to us!

In the same context, the purpose of every Christian's existence is to KNOW and LOVE God.

The feminine has always represented the role of mankind in relation to God.

He is the provider and the protector. We are dependent on him for all that we are.

The men and women who have been invited by God to spend eternity in heaven will quite likely experience a spiritual intimacy with him which far exceeds that of even the closest and most devoted, earthly form of marriage.

Where did you get that from? The Lord Jesus Christ never calls the body of Christ (the church) His Bride. There is only one place in the Bible were it tells us what the Bride is and it is His wife, the Nation of Israel. Revelation 21: 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

I like alot of people, I don't make a convenent, with just anyone. It is my husband, that I put before all else. It is the same with God, he takes us as his bride, and takes a vow for eternity with us.

I do agree that the blood shed by Jesus is what makes us his bride. Our acceptence of the sacrifice that is. And yes I can see a correlation between the two verses you gave. good point.

Christ is the example of love,
Ephesians 5:25-33a - ..... the husband must give his wife the same sort of love that Christ gave to the Church, when he sacrificed himself for her. Christ gave himself to make her holy, having cleansed her through the baptism of his Word - to make her an altogether glorious Church in his eyes. She is to be free from spots, wrinkles or any other disfigurement - a Church holy and perfect.

He was sexually repressed, and probably ugly, in a day and age when nice Jewish boys got married by the time they were 21, he must have had mental issues or he must have been fat and ugly and too poor to marry.Heck he was a bachelor at 33 hanging out with twelve guys in dresses. we have other words for that these days...

It symbolizes the intimacy he has with the elect; loved them so much he died for them. He prepared a place to them. They will be with him forever.
Secondly: He uses this closeness and relationship to show how husbands and wives should treat each other Please see: Ephesians 5;28, 29

I don't know why, but I do know that Jesus could have been married. It was the law, any Jewish man had to be married!
