get something that means something to you...like your astrological symbol or your favorite bug (ladybug, butterfly)

this isn't a good question to have to ask if you want a tattoo, you should really be getting something thats important to you, not what others want.
think about words or images that are important to you, and that you think will always be important to you. tattoos can be great, and they can be powerful reminders since they will always be on your body.
things like flowers, tribal stuff, and chinese symbols (unless you speak the language) are overdone and under original.
some good tatto examples:
a friend who has always been into astrology got a tattoo of the stars of o'ryans belt, a symbol of the stars he was born under and that he looks to for guidance.
another friend got an inspirational phrase tattooed to remind her of hard times overcome.
i have an original drawing intertwining things that i feel represent me

Tattoos Do Not cause skin cancer!! But you are only going to be 16 and I dont know where you are but in the US it is illegal to get tatooed until you are 18!! And no offence but if you have to come and ask somone what to get your not ready to get one!!

you need to think about what kinda person you are and of things that really mean something to you ; really think about it now, cause from someone who knows, you don't want just anything tattooed on you forever.

i wouldn't get a tatoo unless u know of a symbol that stands for something that means a lot to u...remember that it's not that easy (or cheap) to get it removed so don't get something that you'll be tired of within a yr

You shouldn't get one until you are 18. If your mom is going to let you then she is White (insert your color) trash. I would find a different mom. One who cares about your future.

I would never let my kid get a tattoo. You are going to brand yourself with a tramp stamp and have this trashy mark on your body your whole life. Don't do it. Your mom must be an idiot for letting you get a tattoo.
