and change your beliefs/religion?
I am just curious if this site actually does any good in helping others...

Ted's Girl - I totally agree with you. I love to discuss religions, but when they are just constantly being bashed, it is hard.

So far, and this may be a generalization, I am learning what other people have faith in, and how to use vocabulary that people (hopefully) understand. Also, I now have an impression that Muslim women are easier to relate to than Muslim men. I have also learned to be very impressed by what other LDS people answer in regards to different questions. Kudos to you, by the way.

Yes. I was looking for friendship and I have found it. Not to mention questions about my job and situations at work. It has helped me a lot.
Not spiritually though. I wouldnt listen to a thing anyone on here has to say about that kind of thing. It seems like there is too much hate on here for that. Im tired of the religious questions and the political questions. People ask for the opposite of what they believe to answer and then when someone of the same belief answers they give them the 10 points. Well I just dont think that is right. They asked for it and then they never want to accept what they get, not understanding that some times in life you dont always get what you want. If they really wanted to know they should ask someone they would really listen to and respect the answer they get.
But I liked your question. Good stuff! :)

The thing about this site is that people are so deadly serious about anything you ask. No one can take a joke. And it seems that people just want to comment on your beliefs or put you down instead of actually trying to help you out.

To act, yes. To change my beliefs, no. It's caused me to look for information about a few things I read hear, to know more, and have more elements to understand my own position. So, it's helping me understand myself better.

Yes. I am writing a book and I find the thoughts of the devout and atheists alike very interesting.

I have heard some arguments here that have supported my own, and added to my understanding of my beliefs... I haven't been converted one way or another if that's what you're asking.

I'm not here to have my beliefs changed. I'm done with that and happy where I am in my belief system. I'm here to ask and answer questions, and hopefully gain more insight.
