No. I would have tried to comfort her. I feel sorry for her, she had to watch her son die in a horrible manner with people all around her who were glad of it! It must have broke her heart.

It seems like...back in those days even the prophets were afraid to stand up for Jesus, so I feel what mary was going through...to have to stand there and see the misuse and abuse of her only son. It was so much evil and murdering back then, that even she couldn't stand up for him without risking death herself. Nevertheless, I couldn't yell "crucify him!", if it were to save my life.
