Hi everyone!

This past weekend Thursday, October 19th to Monday, October 23rd I was on vacation in Las Vegas.
Now if you’ve been there you know that Buffets, Booze and Sweets are everywhere there!
Before I left on Thursday I weighed in at 170lbs (I’m a active 6’4 female) and when I arrive home yesterday I weighed myself in at 166lbs.
I DON’T GET IT!
I never ate till I was stuffed (I never do) but I ate till I was content. I normally eat very healthy and so when I was down in Vegas I actually ate that garlic bread, ice cream and margaritas!

Could my very active lifestyle (I run about 60 mins a day) have had something to do with me loosing weight while on vacation?

I’m just in shock!!

Thanking you all in advance for any information you might give me!

Melissa

My wife and I notice this phenomenon all the time. Often, when you take a break from working out, you end up looking your absolute best about a week later!

Of course, the effects are only temporary so don't let it get to your head too much. It is related to all the hard work you are putting into the gym! Its also a result of treating your body well so that the metabolism is healthy and was able to respond to the Vegas buffets without packing on tons of pounds.

The body is always trying to maintain a steady, stable state and is able to respond to short changes very effectively. In fact, sometimes switching up the diet and exercise routine gives the body a well-needed "shake up". Professional often like to shock their body once in a while for optimal results. Otherwise, the body adapts too much to the routine.

Most people find that their weight fluctuates by 1-5 pounds per day... up, down, up, down... weigh yourself in a couple of days and see if you're still 168. It'll probably be 170, 171, 169, or even 167...

Maybe you walked a lot? ( lost 5 pounds spending the summer in Europe... I drank the beer, ate the pastry & sausage... but WALKING EVERYWHERE burned it off- and then some) Maybe your body is perfectly happy where it's at? Mabye your dody hasn't had time to process the calories into fat cells? Maybe your body is just trying to drive you nuts?

I lost weight in Vegas as well, I suspect it was that I did so many things I don't usually do, and never stopped sightseeing

you have a metabolism like fire from all your running and you metabolised the food quickly and your body did not store it as extra weight, I was the same way when i was running(before knee surgery)

Did you puke a lot? Maybe if you had a stomach virus that did it.
