She mentioned something about dinner, but I want this to be a surprise so I don't want it to involve something she has hinted towards me. Any ideas would be great. I'm looking for a sweet gesture, not necessarily buying flowers or jewerly. Thanks in advance

Order in but set up your place like a small little italian bistor or french cafe. Something romantic like that.

A surprise picnic is also cool--pick up a bucket of KFC and ask her to meet you at a local park to feed the ducks. You sound really sweet--I'd be delighted to know that a guy wanted to please me in this way. I had a guy that loved planting flowers surprise me by planting flowers in my front yard--I happen to hate gardening and flowers, but it was a sweet gesture from a guy that is usually so reserved (and macho). Anyway, you know the girl better than anyone else answering this question....so go with what's in your heart. It sounds as if she just wants you to make an effort...so anything would probably be great. You could leave a card in her vehicle (or somewhere else where she'll find it when she's not with you) that saids something sweet, or just leave a note that saids something cool....like 'I think you're really hot'.

Well I say...make her dinner cause she is expecting it...then you should send her on a scavenger hunt...make her a birthday card (even more special) and send her on a scavenger hunt around the house...out to the yard or something...and then have her end up in the bedroom with you laying on a bed with flower pedals of her favorite flowers...and a big bow on you in her favorite color...if you can have a sweet little present for her that would be icing on the cake...a locket that has both your pictures...or a great picture of the two of you in a nice frame...or even a box of her favorite candies (yummy)...these are all semi cheap but really nice ways to say I love you...make it personal to her...I hope this helps some...good luck...she's a lucky girl to have you :)

Buy a divided picture frame with lots of room for many photos and fill it with photos of the two of you. Give to her and you tell her how much you like spending time with her. Or take her somewhere she's never been before or maybe there's a new gallery or music shop open that you could take her to. Just do something that shows that you had to spend time putting it together because time is more valuable than any gift.

Ok, first go to Staples and get a shipping box big enough for a card and some stuff, then go to the stationary store and get a very sweet but sexy card for her. Then get some Hershey Kisses and put then and the card in the box, don’t forget to write on the card “I was thinking about you and missing these”…… send it to her job…instant smile…:-)… now when she get to your place or home if you live together have a few candles lit and takeout waiting on the floor like a picnic. dont forget the wine and have a beautiful evening together….. Cheap, but affective.. Money doesn’t matter if Chemistry and Love is their.

Foot massage, back massage, something that lets her know you know she needs a break and relaxation.
What about a movie that she likes but you would not necessarily watch. Do you live together? I love it when my husband cleans the house while I'm gone. It makes the evening so nice.
What about her hobbies? Could you get her something to do with her hobbies?
Just a few suggestions.

Start with dinner just so she thinks your doing just what she told you to, and then have her come back to your place and snuggle together on the couch watching a movie or put on some slow music and dance. Then invite her to spend the night. Just so that she doesnt feel pressured for sex but it might happen anyway.

Many beauty salons offer a 'pamper day' - or part-day - which will include a massage, facial, maybe manicure/pedicure, etc., and that might make a great gift from which she'll emerge deliciously relaxed and ready to enjoy ... well, if it were me, I'd be content with a top-flight takeaway and prolonged hug.

Hope that helps.

What about making a picnic, or go to cruise for lunch (can be done for cheap in cities), or going to an amusement park.

One year for my husband's birthday I planned a whole day of fun. We went on a cruise tour around a harbor city, then we went to a nice restaurant for lunch and then we went to a concert. Fun stuff.

something simple that can mean a lot is just to leave her a few little notes in places she might not look all the time. that way whenever she finds them she'll be surprised. One in her purse, in a coat pocket, inside the case to her favorite cd or dvd... it really is the little things that mean a lot
