I do not know how someone could love the enemy .But I think ''Tolerate'' the enemy is a better word. I am not trying to insult Jesus .I am trying to say what I think about this.

Message uses synonyms to stress the situation of everyday life.Loving enemies enemies disappear. This 'paradox' refers to personal relationship with our thoughts, feelings and consecutive deeds.Physical sufferings are rare. The most sufferings rise from ugly thoughts, ugly memories and associated feelings.Introspection into our past life can reveal the source of disturbing thoughts and feelings (our enemies) which further undermine communication,co-operation and harmony with surroundings.
Opened eyes (after such examination) induce fresh approach to the life and brings to flexibility (better self protection). There are no real (or they are rare) enemies any more. There are only people in the troubles. The life is beautiful but due to dangers the eyes must be open.Accepting the world as it is enemies disappear.Don't hurry to understand. Understanding comes through the recapitulation (of the personal life).
N.B. The genuine meaning of the satan (which lives in folklore) is adversity.

I don't know, but loving someone doesn't mean you have to be mates with them or blind to their bad intentions. I guess we are called on to love our enemies because there is always hope that they will come to know Jesus. Perhaps there is no such hope in Satan's case.

YES, When you show love toward your enemys ,you gain a power over them that is overpowering. Jesus also said to the disciples be as gentle as lambs but as wise as serpents, so loving your enemy doesn't mean being weak or foolish but only the opposite of the evil they do against you and others, by showing love you are in fact bringing there wrongs to the light and making them feel ashamed of themselfs.god bless.AND NO we should not love satan for he is the lover of hate but only feel sad for him becaus the father of lies cannot return from damnation.

No, we shouldn't love satan. And Jesus doesn't expect us, nor want us to. However, we are to love our enemies. That doesn't mean we love what they do. Just love them. And when we feel we can't, ask God to help. And if we let Him, He will.
We could all take a lesson from the recent incident up in Amish country. The Amish chose to forgive the man who took their childrens lives, and even attended his funeral. That is the epitomy of love if you ask me. But satan, on the other hand, surely hated the example that the Amish set for the rest of the world.
It is not easy to love your enemy. But remember, sometimes we are someones enemy because none of us are perfect. We would want people to love us even when we make mistakes, or sin against them purposefully.
In fact, the bible says to; love one another, be kind to one another, be forgiving to one another, be tenderhearted to one another, be thoughtful of one anothers needs, and to forget one anothers faults. By this shall all men know you belong to Me (Jesus).

If satan was human, then you could pardon him and embrace him as your friend. Satan is all evil you see throughout our universe, and overcoming that evil into philanthropisim is what is expected of us and not to glorify it.
Jesus signifies love whilst satan relates to evil and all diabolic things. In christian parlance, we need to forgive our enemies in order for us to be absolved from a guilty conscience.
Society is already playing its role when it accepts back paedophiles, murderers and other criminals into our midst once they are released from prison.

It is in scriptures seldom followed by vast majority of the faiths followers. Had that been followed in letter and spirit, there would not have been any war in the entire world. Dislike and hate instead of love dominates in many parts of the world.I wish what Jesus said is followed and satans are befriended so that they dont cause any harm to anybody.
