Hmm very acceptable? What do you ask? I'm a Turkish girl, and I have many male friends.
This is not Saudi Arabia, or Iran and Turkey is not ruled by religion.

No problem in big cities like Ä°stanbul, Ankara, Ä°zmir, Antalya. I m married and living in Ankara and I have lots of girl friends which I can talk about everything. For me, a close-friendship with a gf is better than with a bf.
But, to be just friends for a man and a woman is unfortunately not acceptable in small cities or villages especially in the east of Türkiye. Most of them thinks that a man and a woman can not be a friend!!!
Also I think that friendship between a man and a woman is not acceptable in the small cities and villages in Europe and US. Isnt it?

Absolutely aceptable. I am married. I am Italian and have plenty of Turkish girl FRIENDS. I dont know what that one person is talkign about. Turkey is not like the rest of the middle east. You are talking about a country that had a WOMAN prime minster ike 20 years ago. Women have equal rights as men in Turkey.

Yeah its acceptable , just like other countries ( hmm maybe not all countries ok ) its normal to have female and male friends of the opposite sex.
Gessh some people have wrong impression about Turkey. Hey you gotta come and see the place... Esp Istanbul tho.

It is acceptable and honestly I love to go to especially the football games of Galatasaray with my friends. Also love scary movies which most of the females do not. I am not very good with girls because I am not very much into that female dramas and etc. I enjoy my male friends company more.
I can tell you that my best friend is male who I can talk about anything and understand each other.

Very acceptable..Here school girls make her parents meet with their boyfriends..So it's very normal for a man and a woman..

Not acceptable. If you are talking about a practicing Muslim family. You may be a business acquaintance, if she is allowed to work and mingle with males colleagues, but don't ask her out for coffee or anything.
