The expiration date is the last date the stores are supposedly allowed to sell a product. Most products have a week or two good time past that. Bread with mold? Heard of penicillin?

It depends on whether the date was the "expiration" date or the "sell by" date. Food will last a short time beyond the sell by date.

Unless it's a milk product. The only time I got food poisoning was from bad ice cream.

And unless the bread is completely moldy, I just cut off the mold. I'm not concerned about eating it, it just tastes nasty.

Depends on the food. I've heard that Spam lasts forever.

And no, I avoid other old food & anything with mold.

No! I had food poisoning when I was a teen, I was hospitalized for a week. I've been wary ever since. It's not worth the suffering.

Gross! NO!

Once something expires..on that very day I throw it out. I refuse to eat expired food and usually throw it in the yard and let the opossums and stray cats eat it. (Thats where all my leftovers go.)
