sorry gary.
it seems that you are a truly uneducated little man.
just because i am young does not mean that my questions are not valid.
you are the fool and it is painfully obvious that you know nothing. otherwise you would have answered without using the sciptures and had an opinion of your own.

I see that no one has really bothered to answer your question.
Yes, that is what the bible asks.
The only difference I see is that one is in a book and the other is in this forum.

I understand where you are coming from. It is like giving a definition of a word with the word in the definition. However, there are ways to test the hypothesis that the Bible is what it says that it is, and that God is who He says that He is.

Like any work of literature, there are ways to validate authenticity. When was it written? By whom? Is it in agreement overall? How many years after the events happened was it written? How many copies of the manuscript are around in the original language? Do these agree or have they been changed? Does archeology support the historical claims of the literature?

There are others that I have not mentioned, but these are off the top of my head. According to literature analysts, there is more evidence for the authenticity of the Bible than any other work of literature in history. I will allow you to do your own research into this if you feel so inclined.

The claim that God is who He says He is, or even that there is a God is a more difficult matter. Just because a collection of books was put together and called the word of God does not make its claims true. The Koran, the Book of Mormon, and many others make similar claims. Looking for inconsistencies in the book is one way to invalidate it. Do the prophecies or predictions of the book come true? Are they vague prophecies that could come true under almost any circumstances or are they specific? Is there anything in nature to suggest a Creator? Do the lives of those who study and believe the Bible validate its claim to change lives for the better?

The bottom line is to answer for yourself, after much research, the most important question ever posed to mankind. Who is Jesus Christ? If He is God, then our response should be gratitude for His gift of life in place of the death that we deserve. If He is a fraud, then we owe Him nothing.

There are some who doubt that Jesus was a historical figure. There are many sources that state that He was, including nonchristian sources. The debate is not if He lived, but was He who He claimed to be. I understand and appreciate your dilemma.

Ok...if you are seriously asking questions...find a website that has stuff about the Bible...yes you are right...being 17 doesn't make you stupid (GARY) and I'm sorry he said that. That merely shows HIS ignorance (1 timothy 4:12 says "Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity." but anyway...you have to have faith in God...He loves you and has a plan for you! :) he wants you to trust in Him...try this: http://www.chick.com/information/general/salvation.asp

You are delusional. Stop playing all those video games and listening to Marilyn Manson. You need a therapist.

When you can create a living planet of your own and raise the dead; then you might be the front runner for God of choice but not right now.

Yes, he is asking you to believe it because God proves it, do you? God has proved his exsistence and his power, his love, his justice and his wisdom. God's name means, "He causes to become". He can become anything to anyone at any given time. Can you claim the same for yourself?

He promises a beautiful paradise worldwide filled with righteous people living on earth, in due time. Psalms37:10, 11. Can you do that?

You are a human being and not God or even a god of any other description but God is truly God and not as we are limited in our knowledge and understanding so what you say has a flaw in it in a very obvious and logical way thank you
