My girlfriend loves broccoli, so we are cooking a broccoli-themed meal. I thought ice cream would be a good way to end it.

I love this! And to those that think it doesn't taste good, you've blowen out your taste buds with hot sauce.
Obviously you have an Ice Cream maker or you wouldn't ask.
While that makers humming away per the ice cream directions you have cut up your head of broccoli and now you'll be blanching it in 6 cups water, 1 cup sugar, takes about 7 minutes. After it cools, out comes the food proccesor, in goes broccoli, pulse chop 15 times thill you get the size you want. I usually chill it at this time in the freezer. Just before the end of the churning of the Ice cream toss in the broccoli.
Anyone for a slice of Crabcake to go with that?

broccoli icecream? all i can say is ewww, but at anyrate to make it, get an icecream maker, you can get them fairly cheap.

go about the same way that you would make say strawberry, but instead add fresh steamed broccoli. After you steam it but it in a shock bath (ice and cold water) then add it to the churn and mix it in with the ice cream. You can use vanilla or get the plain mix where you purchase your icecream maker.

good luck and i hope that it doesnt' turn out as gross as it sounds. but i will say this it is an orginal!!

Err, never heard of it but personally, I think that sounds kind of nasty. Sorry if I sound mean, I don't mean to be, just giving you an honest opinion.

Why not hide yams in the peanut butter while you're at it?
