There is a program in most cities, if not all, called The ____ Community Services Board (fill in the blank with your city's name). You can look it up in the phone book. You can also contact Social Services and tell them your concerns. They can help since they have contacts to the city's resources. They are often a wealth of information. Monetarily, they might be able to help you there also. Depending on your income, how old you are, your diagnosis, and work status, you might be able to get help through Medicaid. You can also apply for patient assistant services if your new doctor decides to put you on medication. There are lots of programs to help you in that way also.

I don't know if you mean Maine or Oregon....but I do know Oregon has a public assistance program, suggest you call your state department of health to find out what programs are available.
