yeah 150 for a week that you work 40 or more hours that is really a rip off!! Ask them if you can take them for a walk or to a park or something. and ask if you can get paid more for your time. You could find a full time job working the same hours you already do and get paid double or even triple what you are getting now.

As far as getting ripped off, maybe a little because you are only getting 1.50 an hour per kid. The standard rate is $2-$3 an hour per kid these days. But the bigger issue I would address is not being able to go ANY WHERE with the kids, least of all home. If you are younger, I could understand, but if you are over 17 or 18 I think it's a bit much to ask of you. After a while you could start to get burnt out or depressed. You might want to talk to them about it. If they can't afford to pay you more, suggest getting financial aid through the state. If they qualify, the state will pay a portion of the money for baby sitting. This only works if you are over 18, and have no abuse or drug charges though.

Yes, you are getting ripped off. And sitting in an apartment all day is bad for the girls. No wonder the 1 year old is bad, she's getting no stimulation and isn't experiencing new things. Part of the development process for kids is getting out and seeing things. And sitting in the apartment all day is bad for you too. Quit and advertise for a better babysitting job, one where you are allowed to take the kids out and where you get paid more for working that many hours.

I would not want my child care provider running around in a car with my child either...that doesnt sound out of line for the parents to ask that. If you are doing child care in THEIR home and only getting $150 weekly, yes, you are gravely underpaid. HOWEVER, you made a comitment, if you are planning to quit let them know that you feel it would be better if they looked for someone else to start caring for the kids in the next few weeks. Though it sounds like you are being taken advantage of, you need to consider child care is a huge responsiblity.

You should be getting about 2.00hr. per kid....thats about average for child care....so for 50hrs a week you should be getting about 200 per week. And also if they are not letting their children out then they are going to have some screwed up kids....if you like babysitting then I would start by tell them that you want to be able to take the kids to your place or to the park....tell them some things that you want or you are going to have to quit. I am sure they will make some compromises...if not....look for another job.

That's not even minimum wage in Florida.
Quit or demand more money. If you really feel sorry for the family because they are in a financial jam, then try to work something else out. Sounds like a really tough gig though.
Good Luck.

If you don't like the job and have something else lined up then i say quit. theres nothing worse then having to waste time in a place and job that you just can't stand good luck.
