You need to take that diaper off your child and let her get some fresh air or use the good old fashioned cloth underwear and rubber panties. She will not like the wetness. Diapers even pull-ups take away the wetness and it allow the child to continue wet themselves. No accountablity on the childs part.

You might try buying her some really pretty panties and telling her she can wear them when she starts using the potty. Or put a chart on the fridge and give her a star every time she uses the potty. But I'd just wait a few months and try again later. If she's not telling you that her diaper needs changed it may be that she just doesn't notice it yet. Don't worry, she will train eventually.

Patience my dear. Don't get caught up with people telling you that your child should be potty trained by 2, 2 1/2 or 3 even. I have raised two kids and the both potty trained on their on time frame with my encouragement, patience and love. Every child doesn't develop physically or mentally (their attention span)at the same level. I now have three grandchildren that have been with me for the last 5 yrs. and they too trained at varying times. The 3 yr. old still wears a pull-up at night, but just about 1-2 months ago stop going potty in the daytime in her underwear. So the best advice is as mentioned.....PATIENCE. Happy parenting.

She'll do it when she's ready, as frustrating as it is. My first was potty trained before she was 2...my second was closer to 2 1/2 when she was trained, and it had to be her idea. I tried and tried before that and she just woudn't do it. I have a friend who's nearly 4 y/o daughter was refusing. She just didn't care. I told her to let her daughter clean herself up after she pooped. She said it took 3 times, but it worked. Her daughter wanted to no part of that and started using the potty. Just a suggestion, but a last resort.

I really hate these answers..."she's not ready yet" That's Bologna!
She is 2 1/2.... We are the parents.... what is this world coming to.
Potty training time for me:
I have a son 12 - about a week
& a daughter 14- about 1 1/2 weeks

Try a different potty chair. Take her with you and let her choose it. Take her to the bathroom every 20 mins to 1/2 hour. The fluids take that amount of time to go thru your system. Sit with her until she goes then reward her.DO NOT BRIBE HER! If you do it will teach her not to do something she is supposed to unless she gets candy or a toy. I really do not believe that a child runs the show. People make that mistake evreyday.

My daughter started at 3, but wasn't fully potty-trained until 3 1/2. We still have accidents on occasion. (She's 4) Your expectations are too high for a 2 1/2 year-old.

She's only 2 1/2, maybe she's just not ready. The more you push her the longer it will take to train her. My 2 1/2 yr old woke up one morning & decided to use the potty & did great for about 2 -3 wks but now she has no interest. She will go when she's ready & not one second before. Good luck

Leave the potty alone for a while. Some children aren't ready until they are close to 4 years old.
Leave the potty in sight, but wait until she wants to use it before trying potty train her again.
If you keep pushing her to train before she is ready, you'll just get more and more frustrated.

What kind of panties is she in? You could buy some regular panties with her favorite character on them and get her excited about wearing them.

Also, what kind of training toilet are you using? do you let her watch you use the toilet?
I bought the most basic toilet for my daughter who just turned two in August and we are already done, she hasn't had an accident in almost a month and a half.

My daughter loves to wash her hands so that was always what got her motivated to use the potty. Don't force her, she will do it in her time, just keep asking her to go to the bathroom with you, she eventually will want to.

Mine was the same way. She'll be 4 in two months and just recently became 100% potty trained. Kids go at their own pace, as frustrating as it is. We tried EVERYTHING but the thing that finally worked was putting her in panties. She peed herself a few times and realized she wasn't too fond of that feeling and that panties didnt just absorb it like diapers and sure enough, she started telling us when she had to go!

Your darling isn't ready yet. She won't tell you because she is feeling stressed. Back off on the
potty training and get her some pull up pants. She'll soon hate the feel of wetness against her bottom and that will encourage her to learn to use the toilet. Good luck.
