It sound s like your husband is being checked to see if he is a diabetic. The worse thing he could do is skip meals trying to lower his sugar levels. Your blood tester is probably just fine. Your husband needs to eat smaller meals thru out the day, then test 1 hour after to see what his sugar levels are doing. He must also watch what he is eating and what i mean is, more whole grains less sugars and no fryed foods. They are the baddies. Drink fluids and also exercising helps to bring the blood sugars down. Get a good dietitian like i did and changing your eating habits and exercising helps. Good Luck !

no the tester is probably not broken , from what you say the numbers are and what he ate and drank, i am almost certian he is a britile diabetic, he should be checked by the doc and you should report the numbers to him . his passing out is a prelude to a diabetic coma if it goes unchecked, he will need to carry something sweet with him wherever he goes and also some insulin, the doc may have him inject himself with the insulin once or twice a day to get his blood sugar spikes under control....do not delay ,this is very very serious stuff, and can result in major complications if left unchecked....someone with a very long family history of diabetes

Do a check in the morning before he eats anything. If it is over 200 then he has a diabetic condition. It sounds like he probably has hyperinsulinism. He eats a big meal and the blood sugar is really high, then later the blood sugar drops really low. He probably needs to eat a low carb diet.

The tester may not be broken. I have a niece with Juvenile Diabetes. Her sugar has been 399 before. You must have him checked by a doc immediately. They may need to put him in the hospital for a few days to get his sugar regulated.

My tester Ultra shows normal as about 5 to 7 high is 14 then you are in the ketone range and very high is twenty or more. I was at 2.2 once and went into shock, one more degree and I would have gone into a coma.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.
