I am a female that is only 5'3 tall. For my height I am slightly over weight. I started last week counting calories but I get confused with calorie intake thing(ex. Your body needs this many caloreies a day) I've read that if I decrease my calorie intake by 500 calories a day then I will lose 1lb a week but I also need to tone my body. I

I also have a problem with working out and eating. i am not a morning person but when I get home I always find something else to do besides workout. I think I might start making myself get up in the morning and work out. I know its not going to be easy but I thing my eating habits are what is going to hurt me. I would love to hire a personal trainer but dont want to spend the money. I even thought about jenny craig. If I had some type of plan to follow then I think I would be ok.

I know what you mean, been there and there now. I don't count calories but I try to eat healthier. What I find works best is to take advice from like say Weight Watchers and programs that try to teach you how to eat in quantities. Even just try to follow the food health guide. I find this is less frustrating and a whole lot easier to follow as you are making up your own plan as you go and you are also learning at the same time. Drink plenty of water, get some sort of exercise like walking etc., stay away from processed foods and "white" foods ie: white bread, white sugar, white rice etc. Once you start learning and eating the correct foods in the correct quantities and correct preparation, you'd be surprised at the amount you can eat and you won't beable to finish it all. The hardest part I find (and the reason I am there again), is cause I love all foods and I love to cook. Also, I eat cause I get down. Soooo, if you can beat my enemies, I would say you would have it licked! Good Luck to you and I am serious, not as hard as it seems once you learn the correct way.

One pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories. You need to find a web site( http://www.stevenscreek.com/goodies/calories.shtml ) that can calculate (or estimate) the amount of calories your body burns in your regular activity. Then, reduce your caloric intake by 500 each day (equally 3500 a week) to reach that goal. Your diet is the first step, work on portion control and try to eat 4-6 small meals throughout the day.

As far as motivation for working out, you just have to make yourself. Make it your first priority in the evening. I tend to workout about an hour or so after dinner (usally ends up at 8). You might look into exercise videos such as Billy Blanks' BootCamp Elite. It sounds hard but it's a lot of fun, inexpensive and can be done in your living room. Best of luck!

Start smoking and washing down diet pills with Red Bull... OK, that will work, but it will put you in an early grave. It's really just simple math: burn more calories than you are taking in. Try this:
-Eat less fat and sugar and drink more water (always order water and skip dessert).
-If possible, eat 5-6 smaller meals instead of 3 larger ones (this is difficult, but will raise your metabolism).
-Do 20+ minutes of cardio before breakfast most mornings (anything that will raise your heart rate will do).
-Work out with weights at least 3 times a week.
-Get 6-8 hours of sleep every night (preferably 8).
-Start drinking green tea and taking a multi-vitamin every day (recent scientific research suggests that green tea has potent fat-burning properties).
-Be consistent! Most people don't have the time or self-control to really lose weight and get into the shape they want. Good luck.

These are excuses you're giving yourself to justify your laziness. The only way you can lose weight permanently is to work hard. There is no miracle drug or diet.

Do this. For breakfast, eat vanilla or pina colada yogurt with pecans mixed in. You can eat up to 3 yogurts and pecans each day.
Every other day, eat a healthy Choice tv dinner for dinner.

Work out 20 minutes 5 days a week.

Eat as much fruit as you want.
I lost 25lbs in 6 months and that was 3 years ago, and it feels so good!

Sometimes clubs like 24hr fitness or Bally's offer trainers at a lower rate. Maybe a workout buddy would help. I am like you, I am not a morning person, but if I know someone else is waiting for me to go walking with them then I pull myself out of bed to go do it. I myself am trying to motivated myself to workout so i can lose alittle wieght b4 the holidays. Good Luck :)

Stay away from artificial sweeteners, from what a I have learned, they lower your metabolism and make it harder to burn the fat you have. I would get a great nutritionest and get the best regimen for your boby type.
