Why do Christians makes mean comments about Athiests and Agnostics and vice versa? I mean stuff like: 'You'll burn in Hell' and 'You have to be in idiot to believe in God' and stuff like that... it's just rude. It's not expressing a point it's just being impolite and oughtn't be done in any circle. I'm Christian and a lot of my friends are Athiests but we're never ever rude to eachother about that or to even discuss religion.

Good for you and your friends, you set a good example. Should the people of the world practice tolerance of others beliefs,(providing their beliefs or the practice of such does not impact other people), then we will be living in the world God made.

God's love is unconditional and the Bible teaches us to practice that same thing. So those particular Christians aren't really talking the talk nor walking the walk. .

It IS very rude and uncalled for. It does go both ways, though. Atheists and Agnostics need to respect all the different belief systems and not push what they believe down our throats either.

I'm a Christian and have a very dear friend that is from another faith. When I told her that I'm an Adventist she was curious and wanted to know what I believed and I told her, BUT I did not push my beliefs on her. I just answered her questions and that was it. I did not go any further except to say that if she had any further questions to not hesitate to ask.

On this forum and in the Religion section I will state what I believe and/or write in Scripture, but I try not to force it. I will most likely be thinking, Oh no that's wrong, that's not true and resisting the temptation to tell this person that he is wrong and sometimes I give in, but most times I don't. I've already called somebody ignorant and have already told several questioners that they have been misinformed, but that will definitely stop. I do respect others and their rights to whatever they want to believe, even though I don't agree.

Good point, but I think you should say 'some Christians' because they're not all like that. However some people (from various religions) really do believe that they're the only ones who will be saved and the rest of us are doomed. Well, let's see if they turn out to be in the position to say 'I told you so!'

You know Ive been asking myself that same question. Im also a Christian but I do not try & put my views on anyone else. To each is own. Its the Christians who tell people that "they will burn in hell" that give the rest of us a bad name. Athiests have their beliefs but they too should keep it to themselves.

You speak to a question I just answered on Q&A . Whether we are Christian, athiest, Agnositic, Jewish, white, black, whatever.. none of us have a right to be mean to anyone else, to use mean words, and call names. Noone has that right. If you take that right, you are saying it is ok for someone to do that to you. I know I dont like the world being like this, where people so often are rude and sarcastic and just plain ol mean. We each should be able to give our opinion, have it heard, and athen debated. But, one guy just said on another site that missionaries should be pooped on. Another guy told a gay boy needed help to get a gun and kill themselves. Gosh guys, is this what you want to live in, a world like that? BE it atheiestm or Christianity? Come on. We make our world what it is, and seems many are making it a not nice place to ive in. God gives us all the precious gift of choice as to what we believe. Its all good. Glad He doesnt want a bunch of little robots forced to follow HIM. amen. Each of us should stand up for what we believe and say why. We can agree to disagree. And, we as Christians can hold onto our believes , yet leave room to learn something you dont know. Just check it all against scripture and see whats of God and whats not. We can learn from each other. I learned a great deal from a good athiest girlfriend of mine a few years ago. She became my boss. We were able to discuss things and we never agreed, but loved the discussions. I watched as a few years later, she began to question all she had heard growing up. Then, God allowed her to see an angel.... wow. Did it instantly make her turn to God, NO. but she isnt running as fast from God as she way. we learn from each other. She did have a good heart, and loved people. Her mom was a Christian and dad an athiest. She showed that it is possible to be a decent person and still not let God in. and I learned much from her about how to handle difficult job situations. I wasnt a strong Christian then, and boy I had questions myself. so, come on guys, lets lose the sarcasm and the hatared. wanting to poo on people shows me that you need serious help and to find out why you are so fool of hatred. I dont hate any of you.... because of GOD. And, it is not up to any Christian to tell anyone they will burn in HELL. Only God makes judgements and those kinds of decisions. When in reality, a person chooses for themselves sby either accepting God or rejecting Him. So dont blame God for where you end up... Its your choice. and we cant plead ignorance last minute. Its up to US to be learning NOW.

Because organized religions think everyone else is wrong. I've met people who go to church every sunday and judge people for what they're doing, and I've met people who have never been to church a day in their life and have nothing bad to say about anybody.

God gave us free will. I guess some people figured they need to push their beliefs on others.

I agree. People are entitled to their own beliefs.
I steer clear of most of these questions that are just posted with the sole intention of offending people. A lot of 'questions' here are posted just to piss off (pardon my French) as many people as possible.
The thing you have to remember is the majority of people here are bored kids that think this type of thing is funny.

It is considered rude to denigrate or correct anyone else to their face in general, not just on matters of religion. You are correct that it is impolite.

I'm glad that you and your friends have been brought up to behave in a civil manner.

Some people only know how to be rude. It makes up for their lack of intelligence.

Religious people are mostly intolerant and rude. They are taught to be so. So it is not their fault but the fault of their elders.
