Ok in one of the arcticles of faith it says that man will not be punished for adams transgression. Are they talking about all mankind or just men. I kinda think that women are being punished for eve's transgression. I have wondered this for sooooo long! Please let me know!

It means mankind in general.

And I don't think it's referring to the still having to work to eat, and still having painful childbirths, I think it's more about our eternal judgement.

As far as women still being punished - I can see why you might think that, women do suffer much oppression in the world, but I think those are the acts of bad humans; not something God wants.

best wishes

It is mankind that is being talked about there. This is of course a Biblical position as well. Salvation does not come by admitting that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Have a look in the Bible to see what the conditions of salvation are.

It is the belief in the Mormon faith that no one is accountable for the transgressions of Adam and Eve--men or women. We are accountable only for our own sins and transgressions we make in mortality.

God did bestow a cursing upon Eve that she must bear children in sorrow because she succumbed to Lucifer's temptation, but in reality, that has turned to be a major blessing in itself.

There is no other way that God's spiritual children can come to earth and gain a mortal body except through that of a woman's ordeal of pregnancy and birth. That was part of God's plan.

I trust this answer is satisfactory for you and Yahoo!

When "man" is spoen of in scripture, it refers to all of mankind, yes. And we are not being punished for their transgressions. If it hadn't been for Adam and Eve's Transgressions, we wouldn't be here on earth.

It is referring to mankind...we are not punished for what either of them did, we are accountable for our own short-comings and sins, unless we repent, then God will remember them no more.
