If you mean guys respecting their girls, who knows? But if you're talking about respect in general, I'll say this: I have a great deal of respect for women who hold the cards in their relationships, as well as the rest of their lives.

It became extinct around the time chivalry did. More people now have less respect for themselves and for others. I think that society says you can't respect yourself if you don't fit a physical mold , pumped out in the tabloids and fashion mags. Respect has to do with treating yourself with dignity because you believe and know you are deserving of it, as you are happy with who you are inside , and aren't afraid to own you. You show respect for others , because you want to show them they to are worthy of it, or at least give them pause to be greatful that you think so. It has to do with manners, being brought up right, and caring about being you and caring about others perception of themselves in your eyes. It's a way of saying , we're both worthy and should be proud of each other.

Yes where is respect?
Women trying to take advantage of naive suckers in bars to buy them drinks so they don't have to buy thier own.
Housewives trying to compare themselves to professionals and pretending they have real jobs.
Men dressing like sissies and being narcissistic (AKA: the Metrosexual plague).
People having no self-respect and allowing themselves to get fat and obese.
Anti-abortionists protesting and harrasing people outside clinics who wish to excercise thier right to have legal abortions.
Mel gibson a known anti-semite/nazi still has films shown in this state and viewed by people.
Tom Cruise a known whackjob hasn't been publicly executed.
And last but not least, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have not been elected president and vice president of the U.S.

Sweetie, people respect people who respect themselves. You show people who you are and what you'll accept- in the most subtle ways... believe it or not
