There is no "next messenger" but Jesus will be returning soon. We consider Him to be the Son of God and not a Prophet.
The New Testament's Account of Jesus' Second Coming
Out of the New Testament's 259 chapters, 210 of them contain 318 references about Jesus' second coming. Clear statements are given below on Jesus' ascent to God's presence and his return to Earth, as follows:
"... I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, [so] that you also may be where I am." (John 14:2-3)
"So if anyone tells you: 'There he [the Messiah] is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or: 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." (Matthew 24:26-27)
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (Matthew 24:44)
... The appearing of our teacher Jesus, which God will bring about in His own time-God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. (1 Timothy 6:15-16)
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:8)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)
"At that time, the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky and all the nations of Earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory." (Matthew 24:30)
"Men of Galilee," they [angels] said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into Heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into Heaven." (Acts 1:11)
"For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for ... the teacher Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3:20)
"Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him." (Revelation 1:7)
I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from [the line of] Jacob. (Romans 11:25-26)
Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it [the coming of Jesus] is near, right at the door. (Matthew 24:32-33)
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. (Matthew 25:31)
As stated earlier, Jesus will inauguate an era of justice, wealth, and virtue upon his second coming. As the New Testament says:
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)
This, then, is how you should pray: ... Your kingdom come ... (Matthew 6:9-10)
People will come from the east and the west, and [from] the north and the south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed, there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last. (Luke 13:29-30)

The main reasons for the different versions are to more accurately translate original texts and to update the English language used. For instance, the King James Version was translated in 1611 and Elizabethan English was spoken then. But languages evolve and words mean different things or take on new synonyms after 300 years. The word quick, for instance, means fast. But in 1611, the word meant alive or living.
Another thing is that the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 needed to be taken into account. These scrolls included almost the entire book of Isaiah written a thousand years earlier than any previously known copies. This was important for factual verification and for translation accuracy.
As for prophecy about another messenger, there isn't one. In Christianity, Jesus is the first and the last Word. And HE will return one day.

My Muslim friend,
There are in most translations of the Bible prophecies of the truth being lost after Christ's ministry, and then being restored in these last days of the earth. Paul the Apostle said in Acts
3:21 that Jesus Christ, after His ministry on this earth, "Whom the heaven must receive until the times of RESTITUTION OF ALL THINGS, which God hath spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began.
The Bible is the "stick of Judah", Ezek 37:16. It is a record of God's relationship with man through His prophets on the Eastern continents. But Ezekial also talks of a 'stick of Joseph'. If you care to read an account of God's relationship with generations of people on the North and South continents, Read a book called the Book of Mormon. It's prophecies and messages will amaze you. Happy searching for eternal truths my friend........P.S. There are many other biblical prophecies of the works and wonders to take place in our day.

You ask & I will tell, Yes the bible does mention other messengers, Read Malachi 45-6 Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the GREAT & DREADFUL day of the Lord, The Great day of the Lord is when Jesus was born, John the Baptise fulfill the first part of That Elijah annointing & the Dreadful day of the Lord is the time we are living in now, That fulfills the Elijah that was to come with the same annointing that Elijah of old has, Now to see who this Elijah annointing is in the 20th century you will have to go to www.william branham.com & study his minstry, now down to verse 6 And He (WHO) John the Baptise shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, Our Fathers is the Apostles, & the heart (Another event & time period) of the children to their Apostolic Fathers, lest I come & smite the earth with a curse. now Revelation 11:3-8 there will be two prophets for Israel with the annointing of Moses & Elijah

Well....the first coming seemed to have been by John the Baptist..to teach and baptize the belivers by water. There is also mentioned that the second coming will be by someone much greater than John and will baptize by fire. Jesus mentioned that not even he knows the day or date of judgement...but WATCH.
The last chapter in the Bible contains some of the most fearsome but knowledgeable information you can withstand. I also remeber reading something like..." Until all of these things are fulfilled, then will I come".

Hi..You brought up a very good point...there are many versions and no one is sure what is/is not accurate...many Gospels were left out for various reasons...I don't have a quote but the last chapter of the New Testament is the Book of Revelation. According to Scripture this is the Apostle John's description of the Second Coming of Christ. I hope this helps in your search. Peace.

there are three dispensations (1) patriarchal (2)mosaical (3)christian. we are now in the christian which is the last days for there will be no other dispensations. the next thing will be christs return. christ is our prophet or messenger /Deu 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; / this is speaking of the christ. all prophecies have been fulfilled except one and that is christ return. WE HAVE NO OTHER PROPHETS/ Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
some bible versions are perversions that are made to fit the times or man, they have truth and error but that is another subject.

Hi:
I would like to give you a quote from the Bible:
God who at sundry times and divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son..." (Hebrews 1:1-2a)
I believe this verse supports the idea that Jesus Christ is God's final message to humankind.
Sincerely Robert

The Bible does say that in the ending times, that old men will prophesy and young men will dream visions, and it'll be pretty much a lot of people; but in the reference of a "Bible: Part Two", it says that anyone who adds or detracts from the Bible itself will have all of the plagues, curses, and what have you visited upon them. So no second book, sorry.
