Does anyone know how to peel a butternut squash?
I got the sharpest knife, and it's taking forever (& to be honest, a bit dangerous)!
I want my dinner in an hour.... please help!

ps... can i plant the seeds? (might as well get my 5 points worth)

I don't know if this would spoil the recipe you're working with, but boiling most squashes makes it easy for the good stuff to just be scraped off the skin.
Absolutely, you can plant the seeds! I love buying different types of squash just to save the seeds so that I can plant them in the spring.

Um... this may be obvious, but I think I should add not to cook the seeds if you plan on planting them.

Next time just cut it in half, slice off a small flat bottom on the outside of each half, clean out the seeds, add butter, garlic and a little brown sugar. Spray a glass baking dish with oil and sit the squash in the dish on the spot you sliced off. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. The skin will come off easily or serve as is-pretty!

Don't peel it. Cut it in half, clean out the seeds in the middle and rinse it out, put in a dollop of butter and whack it in the oven for about 30 minutes at 375F. Check it with a fork to see if its cooked. Yum!
