Just curious. I have noticed that all that I know, including myself are going through a lot of overwhelming things...

Hi Red...I am Red too, lol. I am going through a divorce at 51, trying to make a new relationship work out (husband left me for someone else), my son is on his second tour of duty in Iraq, money is very tight, I am not overly happy with the world in general, I miss seeing my family more, I am getting older by the minute...yeah...pretty much life is overwhelming. The best thing I have found is to try to find things to laugh about as often and as much as possible. Its not always easy.

These are overwhelming times we live in. There's two things I want to recommend to you, one is a book called "The Purpose Driven Life" and the other is a movie (although I believe there is a book too) called "What the Bleep are We Here For?"

Basically, we're a society who make ourselves ill and become overwhelmed because we take on too much. We need to scale back and do some soul searching and focus on the things that really matter.

This great big old world will merrily go on with or without you, you know, so try to figure out what your purpose is in this life, because it's over before you know it.

As I see it, life has its ups and downs. The highs and the lows. Everyone goes through the tough times in their lives at some point. Try not to overwhelm yourself and take a breather every now and then. Don't worry. Just keep a positive outlook on life and remember what important roles you play. No matter what I'm sure you are a beautiful person and can over come anything. Keep your head up!

Life is always throwing you some curves and that's normal. It's how you handle them that shows what you are made of. I usually find a good friend or family member to talk to . It sure helps and sometimes they come up with some helpful ideas . Sure better than trying to handle it alone because sometimes you can feel like your whole world is caving in. It's not and you will be back on top.

i think we are close to the same age and not sure if that has anything to do with or not....but i feel the same way. and it just sort of hit me that there's not enough time and too much to deal with and somedays i just want to throw the covers over my head and shut everything off. i know a lot of my friends in my age group feel the same. this time of year it gets worse for some reason. a lot of it is hormonal and my doctor has started me on antidepressants which seem to help a little. i think what really would help is a support group of women going through the same sort of things. good luck.

I just had this same realization last night. Everything generally sucks right now for everyone around me, including myself. Too much too fast. Stop the world. I want to get off!

i think that's a natural part of life. Life is overwhelming in general. Everyday you experience stresses and obstacles in life that are difficult to face.

Yeah. Living is tough because things are always happening. ALWAYS. Even when I sleep, stuff is happening. It gets overwhelming when you start paying attention to it.
