why is everyone saying a tat on your lower back is a tramp stamp?? It is no different then anywhere else!!!! I know a lot of girls with lower back tats, including me and they are not trampy, trashy or a slut!!!

I'll try to be objective as possible, since I really hate tattoos. However, I realize that a lot of people, both men and women alike have them and love them. I can respect that. So your question is why everyone is saying lower-back tats are a tramp stamp? Who's everyone? Certainly not the people who matter to you the most. What do you care what other people say or think? You know you're a good and decent person, and a tattoo on your body -- wherever it is, does not define who you are. People say a lot of mean things, and half the time they don't even know what they're talking about -- they just love the sound of their voice. So just ignore the nasty comments and be proud of who you are.

Tattoos are a statement of who you are. They have always been considered low class by a lot of people - sailors get tattoos, know what I mean? Therefor, a girl who gets one on her lower back and exposes it to the street is making a statement that this is a taste of what you can't see; come and get it. Tie that in with the string of a thong exposed and, ergo, "tramp stamp". Like it or not.
A girl who gets one near her Vagina is only showing it to those she wants to see it; it's private and, therefor, not a signal.

It may be a generalization, but that's because it's generally true. Most women I've met who have a tramp stamp are pretty easy. It's also called this because it gives the guy something to "shoot" for. Personally, I like to use it as a coaster for my beer.
