Im 17 5 "5 and yeah it's kinda embrassing, Cause my arms look like they are well shaped, but I can't do crap. Someone plz help explain this, or give advice. I have never lifted before, but it just doesn't seem right, that thats all I can do!

Being well-shaped doesn't mean you're going to be strong or be able to do a particular technique. It takes time.

first off if you have your shirt off and a girl comes up do they say, hey how much you bench or man you look good. People put to much imphasis on amount of weight which makes them try to lift to much weight not getting the full effects of a real workout. secondly muslces take time to adjust to the stresses of weightlifting, give it time and always allow the muscles to heal before repeating exercises. lifting is the tearing down of muscles to have them grow back and if they are torn down and not healed before torn down again you are spinning your wheels. Im sure the class will teach you but stabilizer muslces are where most of the ability to lift more weight come from. The major muscles can only get you so far so work in core routines as well as balance and freeweights to help with that.

Drink plenty of water. This keeps your muscles hydrated and causes more endurance and power. That is key. Eat plenty of food with protein in it. You could try suppliments. That have a whey protein in it. This helps rebuild the muslces when they are broken down by lifting. This faster the rebuild with the proper amount of protein you will be able to lift more and for a longer duration. Your Diet it key. Cut back on sodas and junk foods. Make sure to have plenty of Carbs and this will provide energy for you gym class. Breads and baked potatoes will help feed you the needed carbs. You can also think about stretching properly too. This will help your muscles break down faster which will provide them with more strength. If you have more questions about lifting I would advise going to www.bodybuilding.com. This is a great site. The people there are professionals and can give you a better insight to your questions as well.

It doesnt matter how big your arms are naturally, If you dont work on them and keep working at them, You wont lift much. Im 5'2 and have very feminine arms and I can only bench 65 lbs. Thats not alot, but its over half my body weight and I started off only being able to bench about 35 lbs. So it just takes time. Good luck.
