The volume on my home telephone is too low. I have just bought a new phone and the volume is still low! This is with the volume turned up too the max. I have to strain to hear. Do I have bad wiring?

The volume on my old home phone was fine in my previous house. Could it be the telephone company not sending a strong signal?

no the wires would have nothing to do with the volume, now u may have static, cross talk, or other wirerelated problems. but with in my years of me a phone man. thats should cause a low volume on a telephone set. The problem most likely lies within the telephone itself. My sugestion is try to exchange it, if that doesnt work try a different model, if its a cordless try a old corded phone, if that dont work they do make telephones for people that have hearing loss. We have a couple around here at for some of our customers that arent def but hearing impaired

Could be the wiring, but probably not.

If it were me, I would borrow a telephone from a friend or nearby family member that doesn't have the problem.

I would want to listen to the telephone at thier house first to make sure it sounded normal to me, then i would take the phone to my house and plug it in.

If it still sounds to low, you may need to call your local telephone company to check the line at your house.
(There may be charges involved with this.)

If this doesn't resolve the issue, there are amplified telephones available, as well as amplified Handsets for your existing telephone.

Good luck!
I hope this helps!
