I Have A Very Friendly And Loving 7-Month Old Male Cat. He's White With Some Black Spots. His Name Is Neo!

I Need To Find Him A Good Home. Does Anyone Know Of Any Shelters Who Donot Put Them To Sleep, And Actually Finds Them Good Homes? Or Is Anyone Interested In Taking Him In? I Really Need A Home For Him A.S.A.P.

I Have To Give Him Away, Being That I Am Pregnant, And Have Developed Allergies To Him. He Will Be Missed.

I'd take him... but if you live somewhere really far away from me, i can't have him. It's not like he'll be sent in the mail or anything. But i live in Hinton... and i'm a Cat PHENATIC

Wouldn't your symptoms dissipate after your pregnancy? Besides, if there is an animal in the house when you bring your baby home, the baby would be less likely to develop allergies towards animals as he/she grows up-- so by giving the kitty away you're not doing your child any favors. Talk to your doctor and see if there is anything safe he/she can give you to lessen the allergic effects and not harm your baby until you give birth (or in modern terms- download LOL!)
You should tell us where you are too in case someone CAN take the cat. I'd take him but I don't know where you live and I can't really travel to some place like Reno! Ask your vet if they know of an animal friendly shelter in your area... they'll be more than willing to assist you.... provided you don't get the answer here.
Meow hello to Neo from my kitties Figaro & Rosina and have a great day!!!

give him to a no kill shelter or to a friend or family member. Or make one room the cats room and clean up the rest of the house really good and let the cat have a room where he can play have his litterbox and his food and water etc. have your husband take care of him till you have the baby or ask your doc if there is something that you can take to help with the allergy.

good luck!

Some options
Ads in local papers
Flyers with a picture, a description of him and why he needs a home - Post in grocery stores, at vets, all around town.
Hopefully you'll find a loving home (give it just a bit of time)
10 Million cats & dogs are euthanized every year for lack of available homes, so please be sure he's neutered.

Why would you give away your cat just becuase you are pregnant?

Not to be super harsh, but if you care about him that much, once the baby is born and you are done nursing if you plan to do so, take allergie medication if they get that bad.

Theres no reason that you should have to get rid of him becuase of a new baby.

call around the shelters and ask them if they put them to sleep if no home is found, or put an ad in the paper. one thing it is wrong to get rid of an animal all because you deciede to get pregnant. animals are living beings to you dont just get rid of it. just becuz. it is not right you should not be allowed to have any at all............ would you get rid of a child just becuz you are having another child. NO you wouldnt your cat should be a part of your family..

I suggest calling the local human dept and asking them
about their policies. Alot of these agencies have a no kill policy and IF they dont..........they will tell you what other local agencies
have that policy. Also, IF your cat is so loving... chances are there will be NO PROBLEM adopting him out.

Good luck

Where do you live? There is a great "no-kill" shelter in NY, not too far from Buffalo.

call your vet. Chances are that he works with a shelter in the area (mine does) and would be able to tell you if they are no kill or not.
