I have seen the word god be distorted, and misused that it has lost it's meaning. Most christians in which has given christianity such a bad name use god as a way to convey fear, and guilt for being who we are. They subject people with promises and ridicule others for not believing in those promises. Athesits because of this if someone uses the word god, i have found you too also generalize this as being a word that chrisitians you to brainwash.
And I would agree that most atheists are intelligent people who do not conform to the ways of society, but it is through a rebellious nature, or of one from love? When I say god, I mean everything within, and cannot be defined, because another man can only define his own heart, not the hearts of others.
So I ask the question is god a higher source within, and beyond that is just a word to define something that cannot be defined?

God is a concept by which we measure our pain.

Considering that words DO have meaning! Like the word
EVIL being the reverse of the word LIVE!
And that evil does things in the reverse of good. Like turning the cross and star, (symbol of humanity), upside down.
Would it be logical to say, that the word GOD, is the reverse
of DOG?
And the nature of dogs is snapping and biting, and gobbling up the food before another dog can get at it? That the word god denotes the opposite nature? Benevolent, and generous.
But of course, someone will SH1T on this notion, and talk about
how FICKLE the gods were.

I havne't heard Obama say such matters. I do not know the person however I recognise others who do and so they say they NEVER heard him specific such critiques as that, correctly he has continually gave the impression actually very patriotic and prefer he feels blessed to be an American. Those matters Jeremiah Write mentioned have been terrible - - as unhealthy as while Pat Robertson mentioned nine/eleven was once America's fault, Of direction, the scoop or the Clinton crusade went via years of sermons and picked out absolutely the worst constituents. But I were to Trinity and Pastor Wright didn't say matters THAT severe in each sermon. Wright is fairly fallacious headed in a few approaches however he has performed well in different approaches. has prompted plenty of persons to permit God into their lives, not to flip your backs on others much less lucky, and to be in charge, aid their households, try to do good in tuition & do not pay attention to the detrimental angle that learning manner "performing white". He has been lively in serving to the homeless, persons with AIDS and so forth. And "The Audacity of Hope" is a strong and confident inspiration and a well name. But persons are fallacious and that involves ministers. BTW You have entirely misquoted Mrs. Obama. she did NOT say "I have not ever been happy with America in my complete grownup existence." She mentioned this was once the primary time in her grownup existence that she felt REALLY proud. I too have felt REALLY proud to peer how a ways we've come. from simply forty yrs in the past while blacks on this nation have been overwhelmed, arrested, murdered for seeking to vote, and at the moment the inspiration of a girl president might have simplest been the field of dull jokes....I am REALLY proud the USA has now received to the factor in which there real is a danger for a girl or a man or woman of colour to turn out to be president. And I have felt REALLY proud to peer what number of persons are being lively politically. That does NOT imply I have NEVER BEFORE felt happy with this country's beliefs and accomplishments. Nor does what Michelle Obama mentioned imply that approximately her.

I agree with your premise. An added note, most atheists i know, myself included, aren't atheists because we have some rebellious nature... we are so because we believe that society would function much better in a world without religion.

I'd encourage any religious person to spend a day with an atheist... don't discuss religion at all, just observe how one who has no responsibility to the figment of god behaves in his or her day to day routine... i think you may be pleasantly surprised.

You just proved the prophecies in the Word of God to be true Pal.;
..."there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts..."
(2 Peter 3:3)

"For the time will come when they shall not endure sound teaching, but after their own lusts they shal heap to themselves teachers who tell them what they want to hear,, and they will turn away their ears from the truth..." 2 Tim .4:3

I concur. We are the power, it does not come from a higher being. We are the higher being. We need to put more faith in ourselves instead of imaginary beings.
