Braces are quicker-only because they stay on. Also, there are many things that can aid braces (wires, rubber bands, etc). Usually an orthodontist will let you know what they think depending on how severe your teeth are. If you're worried about the "look" of the metal, they have crystal clear braces, and if you don't like those they can put the braces on the inside of your teeth. When they are on the inside, they do take a bit longer to straighten the teeth.
Invisalign is usually recommended for people who only have small things they need worked out.
See an orthodontist first (most will have a free consultation), and if you don't like what you hear, see a different one.

This question can only be answered by a dentist who examins your mouth.
IF your case qualifies for Invisalign treatment, it works just as well as metal braces. Cost can be considerably less than braces, depending on who does the work and the area in which you live. Time in treatment can be as short as 6 months.
Go to the Invisalign website and get a list of qualified dentists in your area. Call around and find one you like, then ask if they will give you a free or low-cost consultation. Only then will you have the answer to your question.
As for costs, in my office, limited Invisalign cases start at $2700.
Edited to add: AG's orthodontist has not become Invisalign certified and thus does not like them. They do not have to cost more than metal braces, and there is less chance of root resorption since the roots do not move AS MUCH. If retainers are worn, teeth will not move back.

Each case is different.
Braces are able to treat more difficult cases than Invisalign, and require less motivation from the patient because they are fixed in place. Most orthodontist I know charge a significantly higher price for Invisalign.
To say (see emmalue above) that there is less chance of root resorption because the roots do not move as much is possibly true, but this is a misleading half-truth. At the end of orthodontic treatment, I would like my teeth in as upright position as possible, and that means moving the roots. Angled teeth have long-term cleaning problems and are at higher risk of decay. Braces should not cause any resorption if done properly.
the wires and attachment brackets for braces are becoming increasingly sophisticated and better. I believe braces are the best solution.

I would not say that Invisalign is better or worse than braces, because it depends on the case. There is no set answer. After a few minutes of wearing them, your speech will sound just fine. They are very thin and pretty much exactly the same shape as your teeth. They do tend to increase the amount of saliva in your mouth at first, but you soon get used to that and the salivary flow seems to slow back to normal after a while, also.
Check this out: http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/
After you have your impressions taken, they are scanned into a computer. A virtual model of your teeth is created in the computer. Very small movements are done on this virtual model. From this computer image, a real model of your teeth is made. Some more very small movements are made on the virtual model, and so on. This keeps up until a whole series of thin plastic appliances is created to guide your teeth to the desired end position. The plastic is thin, but pretty strong. When it first goes in, it feels tight, because it is pressing on the places on your teeth where they have to move. After a few days, the tighness goes away and you know your teeth have moved. You change appliances every two weeks until your case is done.
In my rural Mid-Atlantic general practice, I charge $3,000 for most Invisalign cases, which is less than traditional braces in most cases. I have heard that some charge more for Invisalign than they do for braces, though. The thing is, I an not a specialist and I choose to do only "easy" cases that will not require extra devices to be used in conjunction with Invisalign. This can add to the fee significantly.

I just asked this same question to my orthodontist - here's the answer I got. Invisalign is much more expensive and not as effective as braces. Invisalign doesn't move your teeth's roots - so your teeth will move back. Braces are the way to go.

RE:
Braces VS. Invisalign?
Which one is more affective? Besides the price difference which one works quicker and better?

I believe regular braces are better, I had them for 2 years when I was 14 years old. And once they are on you don't have to worry about them. And plus invisalign are much much more expensive..... I am forever grateful to my parents which paid for my braces back then....

I'm 21 and actually getting my braces in 2 weeks. Problem with invisiline is only works for minor problems and it's very pricy. Depending on how bad your teeth are is really the general question.
Braces are more effect as well because later on, you will get rubber bands that will align your jaw and teeth so you have a perfect bite/smile and it is also good for your jaw. Again nothing is quick, it all depends on how bad your teeth are.
In my opinion, I say stick with the braces! In the long run, it will help your teeth, jaw, and the way u eat and smile! :D
