I sincerely agree! I respect that other people have their own beliefs and if it brings them happiness then I am pleased for them, but it makes me very angry when they feel that due to their own beliefs they have the right to judge ot persecute others. Live and let live is my way, although I know there are flaws in that belief also.....

I can agree to that, I suppose. I can only save myself. I cannot condemn others (for I have neither the power to do that, nor am I perfect enough, only God does).
But I shall still spread the truth, because I feel like I must spread God's gift of love and wisdom to all I can. It is up to them to decide whether or not they will listen.

All you may do is promote to Atheists approximately your assembly place, get a job which will pay adequate to lease a hall or a room, and are available to a decision what you want to do on the conferences. in case you are able to settle for basically 2 to 4 people exhibiting up and be heat and friendly to them while they arrive. you'll be waiting to locate someplace popular and malicious program tight that the individuals you ask to return would be waiting to socialise and characteristic relaxing. you may start up questioning, "How am i able to accomplish this", quite than living on unfavorable issues.

No, I don't agree. To begin with, I don't claim I've experienced the truth. I have my viewpoint, and I try to say it.
Secondly, I don't hate Christianity for spreading a system of beliefs that I don't agree with. I hate Christianity for the many deaths it has caused and keeps causing (through the banning of condoms, for example) and for the many people it makes unhappy (for example, anyone who wants to live fully their sexuality, and yet feel guilty for it).
Thirdly, I do not think I am the only person I can change or reform. If I thought so, I wouldn't have chosen to be a teacher, for example. And I wouldn't bother to open my mouth to say what I think.
And finally, I think your attitude is VERY dangerous. If you had your way, people would keep their opinions to themselves. Nobody would share their views, or have the chance to learn what others think or feel. And so, people would never progress, because we would have no chance to learn from the others.
So, I think this discussion about religions is great (even if it gets too heated, sometimes). And I wouldn't move a finger to keep it from happening.

i am an atheist and happy to hear all about religion and different faiths. I like dialogue and discussion.
However I delicately put my point forward, i find that religious factions, tend to shout me down. I suppose this is part of the nature of their strong beliefs, but it is a shame it ends without any discourse.
Yes, i feel responsible for me and responsible also for others well being at times- i suppose it's a form of humanist principle.
i am very much a believer in the individual and free will.

i agree to some extent, because at a first glance you say, we meet all at one place (here on yahoo?) but...we all live on the same planet, so, no mystery in that love.
I don't like the fact that you're being judgemental about religious people, like myself, no one likes to be judged, so, if you treat others the way you like to be treated, we're one step closer to achieving peace.
The Christian faith I partake in, teaches me to love all as I love myself, so for you to come along and say on my behalf that I condemn others to hell for not seeing my point of view, you're wrong, you are not at all closer to the truth, perhaps another step further from it?
I know that once we move away from the ego, which is the ME ME ME inside all of us, we'll be a much more united world. Once we see each other as equals, there will be more tolerance, love, justice, peace, respect, we can only be on the right path to unity.
Do you think now, that after you tell me i condemn people, (and in so doing insult me) and then you call me friend, am I supposed to see that as genuine or sarcastic. YOu're giving mixed messages here.
Being a true practising Christian, I shall do the noble thing of forgiving, and hope that you're *that* much closer to the truth.

Where is this "one place" we are all meeting? Should I bring refreshments?
I agree that the only person one can change or reform is one's self.
I don't believe that I or anyone else was chosen by god for any reason.
I experience my truth, that's enough for me. I can't make anyone else experience my truth, as I cannot experience theirs.

I am happy with the path I've taken, but it's not for me to insist that others take the same path. The only people I condemn are those who try to force their views on others, who insist that everyone follow their beliefs instead of following their own consciences.

I do not condemn you to hell. I believe in the Bible and the Bible is very clear about this hell stuff. As we have a lot of optionsh here on earth, we have only two choices what comes to eternity. And you get to choose. With or without God. I choose to be with God. I do not know any better love that with a choice.

We are all attempting to show the light to those unfortunates who are SCARED of the light.
Some have been in the dark for so long they even believe that is the best condition to be in.
In fact they believe dark is light.
The usual pacifist Hindu attitude will only lead to the world being dragged into this darkness.
