The speed of light at the moment is a constant not an absolute. If better technology comes along and we find that it is indeed not the speed we thought it was we will change it, Unlike religion whom no matter how patently wrong or defective it is they will refuse to change it (RCC) (Gay marriage issue) (Evolution) (List will go on for ever)
If a Christian or any other faith showed me finite evidence that didn't contradict its self on every level then I may very well gain faith, but this has never happened all they do is spew the same tired ad hock/hom/every fallacy in the book and when you do not buy it they start name calling. So I must say it is the THEIST who only will think in Absolute (Not just christian and even then not all theists, but sadly most).

Fanatics deal in absolutes, I think the religious are more likely to be fanatics, but I'm sure some atheists are too.

absolutes. hard knowledge. well, that has to be scientist. they seek hard, tangible knowledge. theists, seek knowledge but go by faith, which is not absolute, but blind.
