I am trying to determine the size of 1000sq metres, and the only thing I can think to compare to is a football pitch.!!

A typical football pitch is about 120m x 70m (assuming you're talking about football, and not that nonsense Americans play)

This gives an area of about 8400 sq metres.

An official football pitch can vary form 4,050 sq meters to 10,800 sq meters (the average is 7,425 sq meters). Hope this helps.

No two football pitches are exactly the same so I would say approximately 7,000m2

about 7350 square meters.

the length is typically 100-110 (so i used 105 as an average)
the width is typically 65-75 (so i used 70)

105 X 70 = 7350
