Nah, just bring a stroller. They won't have a clue what you are doing or why, but it is fun if they have an older sibling who wants to go. Just don't expect to be out long, they'll get bored of going door to door quickly. It may be a better idea to go to a carnival or harvest festival near you, where there may be some games that even a baby can do (such as throwing a ball). No one is too young to trick-or-treat (or too old)! You just have to modify it a little!

Oh, God yes. Please dont take a one year old out trick or treating or even out of the home on that night. They get nothing out of it at all and will never remember a thing. If you want to take them to a fall festival that could be ok but it is still better for them not to participate at all.
This child is too young and it would be very scary for them. Masks, costumes, and such will only cause FEAR. It may be only momentarily, but the baby could also cry over and over not knowing why. Fear in babies is not good. Just look at how many 1,2,3,4 yrs olds are fearful of SANTA.

Stay home. If you like you can dress baby in costume and take pictures at home of the childs first holloween. Make it festive and not scary.

My daughter is almost 2 and i still think she is too young for trick or treating. I'll be taking her to friends and families houses, however we're not walking around going door to door to strangers. First shes too young for candy and second shes just way too little for all that walking.

I plan on taking my four month old out, but we will only take him to grandparents, our neighbors, his aunts and uncles in town and maybe to our best friends house (depending on weather, and how well mannered he is being) after that we will bring him home and my husband will take our older two back out. As far as the regular cover the whole neighborhood type trick or treating I would say yes, but that really is your call no one knows better than you what your child will tolerate.

Depends what you mean by "trick or treating". If you mean dressing your toddler up in a cute outfit, showing him off to friends and famiky, and then *maybe* going to two or three of the neighbor's houses, then no -- especially if you have other kids going with you. But anything beyond that is excessive.

no a one year old is not to young to go trick or treating you as a parent just need to watch what the child gets so that it is not something that would harm the child in any way

i think so but that does not mean you cant give the child a fun experience like if you have other small children in your family or neighborhood have a hour or two get together for the very young children with holloween activities and treats this way they wont be left out of the holloween spirit thats what i do for my daughter who will be three in march.this way she gets to have a fun time with other children ,she is not out in the cold knockin on doors and she is safe.

My son is 7 weeks, and as long as it isn't too cold, I will be taking him along with my other 2 children. I will avoid the more scarier things, but a lot of houses pass out candy and don't dress the house up. It is a fun social event as well as the candy gathering. I say let him/her have the fun.

I've taken my son trick or treating since he was 1 month old (he was born in Sept).
He's now 3 and loves it, by doing it every year it's become a family tradition.
